Jason Pominville (born November 30, 1982 in Repentigny, Quebec, Canada) is a professional ice hockey right wing who currently plays for the Buffalo Sabres of the NHL.
Pominville played his junior hockey for the Shawinigan Cataractes of the QMJHL.
Pominville was drafted 55th overall by the Sabres in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft. He became a facet in the Sabre line-up in the 2005-06 season, tallying 18 goals in 57 games. In the 2006 playoffs, he recorded a hat trick in Game 2 of the first round against the Philadelphia Flyers. Later in the Sabres' playoff run, he scored the series-clinching goal in the second round against the Ottawa Senators, a shorthanded effort in overtime of Game 5. It marked the first time in NHL history that a playoff series was decided by an overtime shorthanded goal. He is a great player on ice, and has superb skating skills. A gritty player, he displays his unique feisty nature on ice.
Pominville is considered to be very attractive to many of the female fans of the Buffalo Sabres. He scored his twentieth goal of the 2006-2007 season on January 13, 2007 while playing the Tampa Bay Lightning.
