History

Established in 1957 in Falmouth, it moved to its present location in 1961, and attained Sports College status in 1998, the seventeenth school to do so.[1][2] A new £26 million building, completed in September 2008, has replaced the original block.[3]

On 1 July 2011, Penryn College formally gained academy status.[4]

Academic standards

The latest Ofted short inspection (February 2017) saw the school retain its status as 'good',[5] following the previous inspection in April 2012.[6]
