Their primarily homeland straddles the Nugaal Valley.[1] They inhabit the Sool, Sanaag and Togdheer regions of Somaliland. In particular, they settle in Las Anod, Xudun, Taleh, Taleh, Erigavo and Buuhoodle districts.[2][3][4][5]
