She has already appeared in the film Roohi while in the info given, it says ,"She will next appear in the film Roohi". This change should be made under the Career title. [[Special:Contributions/117.220.98.177|117.220.98.177]] ([[User talk:117.220.98.177|talk]]) 18:54, 4 June 2021 (UTC)

Page reinstatement

Note: As of Sept 24, 2018, we are discussing reinstation of this page, over at:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Rush922/subpage/JanhviK

Please come there, express your thoughts as you will and vote. Thanks! Rush922 (talk) 22:43, 24 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

No, any discussion of restoration of the page away from a redirect belongs here, not on some user's talk page. This is an actress with one produced credit, whose page was deleted due to a deletion discussion. It should remain a redirect until she gets substantial notice for a second released work. --Nat Gertler (talk) 16:10, 21 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Do not reinstate yet - This article in particular is one that makes me a bit irritated with the lax requirements of WP:NACTOR, which vaguely requires "multiple" major roles, which most people with an interest in promoting a nobody typically interprets as 2. From what I recall of this article's history, people were compelled to create it on the basis that Kapoor, a socialite at the time, belongs to a notable family, and so she 'deserved' an article. Total nonsense, and I think the threshold should be higher for this subject given the history of promotional-style edits here, and we should require that the General Notability Guideline is met for her. Addressing some of the arguments made at the subpage above:
  • "Janhvi Kapoor has released her first film - meriting her own page" - A single film release does not warrant or guarantee an article will or should exist.
  • "Janhvi has a considerable Fan following among her peers, and is an especially popular 'Star-kid' (or celebrity daughter), COMBINED with the fact that she has released her first movie." Either she is notable for being a socialite, or she is notable for being an actor. We don't mix and match our arguments just to tip the scales toward notable. Notability is not a math calculation.
  • "Janhvi has won an Award - the Vogue "Fresh Face" award for Debutante Actor - and has signed as a Brand Ambassador for a Cosmetics Company, Nykaa" - So what? Are these notable awards? Do we normally create articles for people who have won two minor awards? No. This is a repeat of the previous argument, that if we add 1 film, 2 awards and a fan following, we get notability.
  • "Her debut-film co-star, Ishaan Khatter, had his Wikipedia page created when he only had ONE notable credit to his name, and NOBODY marked it as incorrect." This is a classic, poor argument predicated on the unsubstantiated implication that the same people who objected to Janhvi Kapoor article creation were cognizant of this other article and actively approved it. This is logically fallacious. Anyone can find poorly written, promotional articles about non-notable people. That doesn't mean that we should actively endorse the creation of an article about yet another non-notable person or a person whose notability is not-yet-to-be-determined.
Rush922, you should also be aware that consensus is not determined by voting. Wikipedia is not a democracy. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 16:38, 21 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Reinstating Janhvi Kapoor's Page

Over the past two years Janhvi Kapoor, daughter of actress Sridevi has become a prominent face amongst rising talent in Indian Cinema. Her first film Dhadak[1] released in 2018 and was a commercial success earning over 1.1 billion.

Dhadak in fact remainds the highest earning Hindi film starring debutants[2] and Janhvi won multiple awards for the same including the Zee Cine Award for Best Female Debut[3].

She has consequently announced her second film Takht[4] which will be helmed by Karan Johar[5], a third film Rooh Afza[6] opposite renowned actor Rajkumar Rao[7], and even a fourth film named Kargil Girl based on the life of India's first female IAF pilot.

Seeing as she has considerable fan following[8], and has even gone on to endorse brands like the Indian Cosmetics Brand Nykaa [9] and is a global brand ambassador for Benetton Perfumes[10], it is befitting that her page be reinstated.

No, that she will be appearing in future films does not overcome WP:NACTOR requirements. --Nat Gertler (talk) 12:05, 10 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Height = 169 cm 5.148.154.196 (talk) 14:12, 28 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Unsourced, but also irrelevant for an actor. We might care about height and weight for someone like a prizefighter, but not just a regular person. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 18:08, 28 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Check the Filmfare website itself, she was nominated for a Filmfare Award for Best Actress at the 2021 ceremony. Can someone also compile a list of all the awards she has won or been nominated for? Also update the description in her career section and introduction. 77.96.154.152 (talk) 14:09, 31 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Please provide the exact edit you'd like made, with the text you'd like to add, remove or replace, as well as the exact sources. Edit requests are not to ask others to compile a list of awards someone has won, it's to have the sourced list of awards that you wrote placed into the article. Thanks.
