Shinde (Template:Lang-mr) is a clan of 96 kuli maratha. Variations of the name include Scindia,[1] Sindhia, Sindia.[2] Sindhe and Shinday last name may be also found in communities like Dalits.[3][4] who made weapons for the clan.

The Scindia dynasty was founded by Ranoji Scindia, who was the son of Jankojirao Scindia, the Patil of Kanherkhed, a village in Satara District, Maharashtra.[5] He rose to prominence while serving Bajirao I Peshwa.[6][7][8][2]
