Soft computing is a collection of artificial intelligence-based computational techniques^[1] including the fundamentals of neural network, fuzzy logic, and genetic algorithm which, in turn, offers the superiority of humanlike problem solving capabilities.^[2]

History

The theory and techniques related to soft computing were first introduced in 1980s.^[3] The term "soft computing" was coined by Lotfi A. Zadeh.^[4]^[1]
