: hi IP user! I reverted your edit as it isn't sourced, and using another wikipedia article as a source is not allowed (see WP:CIRCULAR for more information about why). however, feel free to re-add this description if you have a source or local article saying so, and maybe add some facts about it as well like about local flavors. happy editing! melecie t 08:32, 18 June 2021 (UTC) |

Modification and improvement
I want to advice to improve China related facts Faizal shaad (talk) 09:13, 11 June 2021 (UTC)
- hi Faizal shaad! instead of listing down trivias, you may put these facts in a paragraph in the article. for example, the statement
China is one of the formost countries in the field of population.
has already been outlined in the same article List of cities in China by population in the first paragraph:China is the world's most populous country.
as well as the second statementChina was the first country who issued the currency on paper.
which is in the section Early Chinese paper money of article Banknote asThe first banknote-type instrument was used in China in the 7th century, during the Tang dynasty (618–907).
specifically, avoid doing a list of facts that can instead be written as a paragraph, and make sure your paragraph is relevant to the article you're editing (for example, a statement about paper money doesn't make sense on an article about population, even if they both involve China). happy editing! ◎ | melecie | t 09:23, 11 June 2021 (UTC)
Edits on the threesome page
Hi! I am pretty new to wikipedia editing so wondered if would mind explaining the comment regarding your removal of the recent edit I made (this is not meant to be an attack, I am genuinely curious and trying to learn). The comment references 'self-published' source- does that relate to link to the website? Or is that the book discussed (which being published by an academic publisher, does that count as self-published?). Being that there are not many people who research on the topic the page is about, what is the best way to talk about my own work without it being removed? I was still planning to continue updating the page with a range of other scholar's work (as I have already done) but would also like to include my own. Again, not meant to be an attack and thank for your help :-) Ryanscoats (talk) 10:22, 11 June 2021 (UTC)
- hi Ryanscoats! if I recall correctly your edit seems to have added a book that you published which is discouraged under WP:Self-published sources as anyone can just claim to be an expert on something, publish a book, and use that as a wikipedia source. however there is a possibility that I may have acted too hastily if that has been peer-reviewed (and I do not frequent that field so I don't really know who in there are notable), feel free to revert if you believe I did. ◎ | melecie | t 12:58, 12 June 2021 (UTC) ◎ | melecie | t 12:58, 12 June 2021 (UTC)

French toast - Wentelteefjes
Dear Melecie,
The Dutch version of French toast is called Wentelteefje(s). See also the Dutch Wikipedia page: https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wentelteefje
When translating the first part of the text, by using Google translate, you will be referred to French toast:
"....French toast, also lost bread or gained bread, is a sweet bread dish. It is popular for breakfast in much of Europe and North America. Slices of bread are soaked briefly in a mixture of milk and eggs and then baked. Finally, the baking is sprinkled with sugar and cinnamon if desired....."
If you would literally translate the name wentelteefje(s) you get a description that isn't even allowed on Wikipedia..... — Preceding unsigned comment added by 217.166.6.202 (talk) 08:01, 18 June 2021 (UTC)
