Welcome!

Some cookies to welcome you!

Welcome to Wikipedia, TheServingLibrary! Thank you for your contributions. I am WereSpielChequers and I have been editing Wikipedia for some time, so if you have any questions, feel free to leave me a message on my talk page. You can also check out Wikipedia:Questions or type {{help me}} at the bottom of this page. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

Also, when you post on talk pages you should sign your name using four tildes (~~~~); that will automatically produce your username and the date. I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! ϢereSpielChequers 13:16, 19 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

{{help me}} in stuart bertolotti-bailey it says that the citation style is unclear etc, how do I improve that, in your opinion? would you mind taking a look and letting me know? Thank you soooo much TheServingLibrary (talk) 13:35, 19 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

OK, at the moment not all the references have a retrieved date. We need that because websites change and die, with a retrieve date we have a chance of going to the internet archive and checking what the reference said at that moment in time. There are also some names that are linked externally rather than internally - I have changed one to a redlink. Generally we prefer redlinks where an article doesn't exist but would be worth creating as it helps build Wikipedia. ϢereSpielChequers 14:18, 19 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

OMG suddenly all 'Books designed (selection)' and all 'Books edited (selection)' are gone! What's going on? Do you know what might have happened? TheServingLibrary (talk) 14:12, 21 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

If you are working with Stuart Bertolotti-Bailey[1], please read WP:COI and WP:PAID and make the necessary disclosures. Thanks, Calliopejen1 (talk) 17:43, 21 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there, thank you so much for this and for your earlier edits. We finally worked on it today and reduced the number of data. I hope it makes more sense now, let me know what you think. I only just saw your message, I will read the two links you sent me now. Thanks again for your patience with us! TheServingLibrary (talk) 13:30, 24 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi again, I just opened your links. I am not entirely sure how to handle that information, of course I know Stuart, otherwise I couldn't really write about his work. If you let me know where I am supposed to disclose that, I will be happy to say that. With regards to payment, no, nobody is paid to do anything here, so that doesn't apply. Thank you again! TheServingLibrary (talk) 13:33, 24 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Me again, I just worked on the notes and references, cleaning and updating retrieval dates etc, Ih ope this helps. TheServingLibrary (talk) 14:41, 24 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hello TheServingLibrary. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.

Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are extremely strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:TheServingLibrary. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=TheServingLibrary|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. Template:Z159 --- Possibly 21:48, 9 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Your account has been blocked indefinitely from editing because of the following problems: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business, organisation, group, or web site, which is against the username policy.

You may request a change of name and unblock if you intend to make useful contributions other than promoting your business or organization. To do this, first search Special:CentralAuth for available usernames that comply with the username policy. Once you have found an acceptable username, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with your new username and replace the text "Your reason here" with your reasons to be unblocked. In your reasons, you must:

  • Disclose any compensation you may receive for your contributions in accordance with the Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure requirement.
  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
Appeals: If, after reviewing the guide to appealing blocks, you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal it by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your reason here" with the reasons you believe the block was an error, and publish the page. Cabayi (talk) 05:50, 10 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
