Hey, before i put him up at RFA, do you mind if I remove the comments about him not accepting yet, that was my mistake and i don't want it to affect his candidacy. -- SmthManly / ManlyTalk / ManlyContribs 14:01, 5 April 2007 (UTC)

Actually, i'm off to work now until this evening, if you agree then could you please do it on my behalf, if not, then please add his candidacy up because I won't have internet access for 9 hours. Thanks. -- SmthManly / ManlyTalk / ManlyContribs 14:08, 5 April 2007 (UTC)

Although having the newsletter appear on everyone's userpage is desired, this may not be ideal for everyone. If, in the future, you wish to receive a link to the newsletter, rather than the newsletter itself, you may add yourself to the Opt Out List.

News Time

WikiProject The Beatles Newsletter
Issue 012 – April 2007

Beatles News
  • On Friday 30th March, a deranged fan was held after attempting to force his way into Paul McCartney's mansion. See here for more details.
  • Apple Corps continues to make news, after the recent settlement with Apple Computer over the use of the Apple trademark. On April 10th, the company announced that long-time chief executive Neil Aspinall had stepped down and had been replaced by American Jeff Jones. It was also announced that another long term dispute, this time with EMI over royalties, had been amicably settled prior to Aspinall's departure.[1][2]
Project News
  • The article "Jeff Jones (music industry executive)" suddenly becomes of top importance in the Apple sphere of Beatledom. User:Kingboyk has created a stub on the man, but the article needs urgent beefing up (including basic biographical data such as date and place of birth) and, if possible, a photograph of the new Apple chief executive.
  • With the debate over "the Beatles" vs "The Beatles" continuing to cause ill feeling and a number of resignations from the project from advocates on both sides, Kingboyk attempted to diffuse the situation by blanking the Project Policy page and tagging it as {{historical}}. Although this unilateral action hasn't been reverted as of the time of writing, the reaction was mixed, with two members rejoining the project and others stating their disagreement. With the issue still not resolved, the page was sent to Miscellany for Deletion, for the wider community (and WikiProject The Beatles members) to consider the issue.
Member News
  • The membership list has been trimmed, with inactive members listed seperately to help gauge the status of the project. If you've been incorrectly listed as inactive, please don't be offended - just move yourself back to the main list.

i only care about it because i spent a long time integrating every bit of it that could be integrated, it used to at least twice as big, and sourcing it i'd just prefer it if after all that work it wasn't just deleted —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Jac16888 (talkcontribs) 20:32, 28 April 2007 (UTC).

A Question

Hi $UIT. I know that you are a member of WP:POKE and I was wondering if you had Pokemon Diamond (or Pearl). I was thinking that a member of WP:POKE would know where to get the HM Strength. I can't find it, and I need it to get to Snowpoint City, through Mount Coronet. Ryan Got something to say? 11:53, 3 May 2007 (UTC)

Nevermind, my neighbor helped me. Ryan Got something to say? 18:59, 7 May 2007 (UTC)

You edit the DB wikia too?

I knew I've seen your name before! Yep, you helped vote for the sysops/admin. to be elected, right? I've been neglecting that DB site for a while though. It is an embarrassment. It deserves better than it currently is: waddya say we upgrade the majority of those articles with references from the manga? You, me and Kayla could be a good team, since it appears the users' Recoome and Master gogeta are inactive there (not sure about Tipo de carne, or whatever the person's name is). Oh, we don't have to team if you don't wanna. I'll understand. Signed, ~I'm anonymous

I'll help out when I can--$UIT 01:28, 5 May 2007 (UTC)
That's good. Oh, thanks for cleaning up Belzi's article. For Paifu, what do you suppose should be trimmed there? Looks coherent with what WP:FICTION is about. Also, I don't see anything wrong with citing an abundance of references. ~I'm anonymous
Just shorten it to the main points of the story rather than the entire plot of the manga. References are fine but it was citing every minor event: you don't have to cite that they fight a dragon, etc.. --$UIT 05:23, 6 May 2007 (UTC)
I'll see what I can do. Hopefully, you'll give me a hand if needed, correct? ~I'm anonymous

Orphaned fair use image (Image:P.Eric.JPG)

Thanks for uploading Image:P.Eric.JPG. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. User:Gay Cdn (talk) (Contr) 23:47, 8 May 2007 (UTC)

I like the new WP:DBZ

I was thinking on whether Category:WikiProject Dragon Ball templates should be renamed Category:WikiProject Anime and manga/Dragon Ball templates for consistency with the new WikiProject title. Would it be appropiate? ~I'm anonymous

Perhaps you should propose it at WP:CfD. --Deskana (talk) 04:02, 23 May 2007 (UTC)
My work here is done.--$UIT 04:02, 23 May 2007 (UTC)
I actually thought about doing that. Problem is, well, the long name? And that slash mark looks a little strange, especially for a category title. That's not a problem, is it? ~I'm anonymous
Truth be told, I've got no idea. But the people at CfD will know, which is why it's probably a good idea to suggest it there. --Deskana (talk) 04:08, 23 May 2007 (UTC)
What about just [[Category:Dragon Ball templates]]?--$UIT 04:10, 23 May 2007 (UTC)
Ah, I'll leave it to whoever wants to do it, do it. Thanks anyways team. Sorry about that discussion before Deskana, if you're still upset. ~I'm anonymous

deletion of 'what looked like spam'

HI,

I noticed you deleted my contribution because it looked like spam.

Let me see...

I'm registered with Wikipidia so you know who I am; spammers usually try to stay anonymous.

You could have contacted me about my post or even better, visited the link I added.

It's about a fishing trawler being converted into a cruising trawler. It has no ads, I has a ton of information on systems that you find on trawlers. It's very educational.

So why delete it without even having a look at it? What exactly 'looked' like spam in my edit?

I look forward to hearing from you.

Expeditionyacht 22:46, 25 May 2007 (UTC)

I apologize. A link you provided had the word "blog" in it. Those sorts of links are usually avoided, and occasionally go against WP:COI. Sorry, should've assumed good faith here. Regards,--$UIT 00:28, 26 May 2007 (UTC)
