Janela Joy Pigon Cuaton is a Filipino beauty pageant title holder and model who was crowned Mutya ng Pilipinas Tourism International 2015.[1][2]
Pageantry
Mutya ng Pilipinas
Cuaton competed in Mutya ng Pilipinas 2015 and her special awards were Miss Friendship, Miss Photogenic, Darling of the Press, and Mutya ng Skyjet Airlines. She was crowned as Mutya ng Pilipinas Tourism International 2015, gaining the right to represent the Philippines at the Miss Tourism International 2015 pageant in Ha Long Bay, Vietnam. Fellow winners were Leren Mae Bautista (Mutya ng Pilipinas - Asia Pacific International), Nina Josie Robertson (Mutya ng Pilipinas - Overseas Communities), Julee Ann Marie Bourgoin (1st runner-up) and Brenna Cassandra Gamboa (2nd runner-up).
Miss Tourism International
Cuaton was slated to compete at Miss Tourism International 2015 to be held in Ha Long Bay, Vietnam last November 2015, but the pageant was postponed. She was then appointed to compete in the sister pageant, Miss Tourism Metropolitan International, where she placed 1st Runner-up to Charleen Obdam of Thailand.[3]
Miss World Philippines
Cuaton then competed at Miss World Philippines 2017 where she placed in the Top 10 (despite being an early favorite) and garnered the Miss Best Skin sponsor award.
Personal life
Cuaton, 27, is a fashion model from Doha. Her mom is a nurse at Hamad Hospital in Doha while her father is a bank executive in the Philippines. She is a freshman at the Far Eastern University in Manila who wants to major in business administration.
