Selahaddin Eyyubi (Urdu Cyrillic: صلاح الدین ایوبی) is an upcoming Pak-Turk television series produced by the owner of Turkey's Akli Film, Emre Konuk and Pakistan's Ansari and Shah Films.[2] Selahaddin Eyyubi is based on the life of Saladin. The television series is expected to start production in Spring 2022.[3][4] The producers asserted that the main target of the series are non-muslims who are unaware of the Muslim history.[5] The series is being written by numerous Turkish historians and they are also being abetted by Pakistani historians and research writers.[6]

The television series focuses on the life of Saladin and how he conquered Jerusalem.[7] Furthermore, it focuses on his struggles and battles against Crusaders and his goal to unite the Muslim territories of Syria, northern Mesopotamia, Palestine and Egypt under his rule.[8]

Cast

Production

The series, featuring actors from Turkey and Pakistan, will be shot in Turkey and is planned to have three seasons.[10] 75% of the show cast will be Turkish including Ayyubi and the rest of 25% cast will be from Pakistan.[11] The producers revealed:

The series focuses on the Quran, history and religious harmony. How the Quran can be used effectively to govern empires that are embraced by people of all religions.[12]

Release

The series is expected to be released in Spring 2022.[3][13] However, it hasn't officially been announced when it will be released.
