Adding Music
Looking to add a 10 second music sample of a music track mp3 to an artist page. Is this possible or can you lead me to the pages so I can get further instruction and make sure it is ok to do so? Sarahalohi (talk) 20:01, 11 September 2021 (UTC)
- @Sarahalohi: Hi. You may find the Help:Creation and usage of media files page useful. However, copyright is a key issue here:
- If the work (both the music itself and the recoding) is freely licensed or if its copyright has expired, it should uploaded to Wikimedia Commons.
- If it falls under the non-free content policy, it can be uploaded to Wikipedia – though you might want to ask on the media copyright questions noticeboard first.
- If it does not fall under the non-free content policy, it should not be used, since using it may be a copyright violation.
