Darren McCarthy is a fictional character played by David Hunt, who first appeared in episode 5 of Day 6 of 24. It is revealed through a telephone conversation with terrorist mastermind Abu Fayed that McCarthy had sold him the suitcase nuke detonated shortly before the end of episode 4, and arranged for the device which reprogrammed the trigger. McCarthy is a billionaire businessman and drives a 2007 silver Maserati Quattroporte
