Claire Morgan (born 1980 in Belfast, Northern Ireland) is an Irish artist. She lives and works in the North East of England.[1][2]

Biography

Morgan was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland. She studied at Northumbria University in Newcastle upon Tyne, graduating with a BA Hons in Fine Art Sculpture in 2003[3].

Her work is inspired by the cycles of nature and the problematic relationships between humans and nature, as well as personal experiences and memories of trauma[4][5].

Morgan started out working with temporary materials such as rotting fruit and other organic materials[4]. She is known for suspended installations that often include taxidermy[6][7][8], and also for intricate works on paper[9].
