  • Hybrid Fibre Coaxial could stand a good strong copyedit (no to mention renaming). I also have a hunch that the terminology in the article is specific to Australia; I know HFC is now the dominant design for cable TV networks in the U.S. among other countries, but I don't know enough about cable TV technology to significantly improve it. (Cross-listed under "Applied arts and sciences" at "Communications".) 18.26.0.18 05:07, 13 Feb 2005 (UTC)
  • The American Broadcasting Company needs a ton of work. Right now, it's got a 1,100 word POV essay in the middle of it, detailing a court ruling in the 1960's. I took it out, but it went immediately back in. Huge focus on one event and nothing else on company history, shows, or anything that might matter to someone looking for info on ABC. Awful as it currently is.--Firsfron 04:24, 12 Jan 2005 (UTC)
Good, someone else noticed this; it's been there even before since I started on Wikipedia in 2003, but since I knew absolutely nothing about the history presented, I left it alone. It is interesting that ITT and Norton Simon Inc (both large conglomerates at the time) wanted to buy ABC, but it could certainly be pared down some. I'll see what I can do. -lee 08:19, 16 Jan 2005 (UTC)
The edit you made is quite excellent, Lee. I hope it sticks. :) --Firsfron 03:26, 19 Jan 2005 (UTC)
  • Talking Heads (Plays) is a subject that I need some help with. I've started to write summaries for the episodes but the structure isn't quite right, and I'm trying to put some substance on the social impact but naturally it's difficult not to make it a hagiography/POV. Any thoughts? Matthew Platts 04:58, 14 Feb 2005 (UTC)
  • 3rd Rock From The Sun. This contains an interpretation of the show that doesn't seem to be backed up by anything from the show's creators. Is this original research? Comments, please. DJ Clayworth 16:48, 17 Feb 2005 (UTC)

History of corsets is a copy-and-paste merge of several articles, all originally marked for deletion. The information contained in it is - if true - generally impossible to verify, and/or not notable. If kept, it needs a serius rewrite. - Mike Rosoft 18:48, 14 Jan 2005 (UTC)

Coutume has no wiki-links, and is also a substub. It needs serious improvement. - 69.47.185.144 21:32, 20 Feb 2005 (UTC)

  • Run (movie) - has a dubious factoid about a cult called the "do-run-runners" I'm unable to verify Bryan 04:15, 7 Feb 2005 (UTC)
  • Screenwriting - many missing, empty sections the original author probably intended to fill in later; could use some expansion and a more thorough treatment from someone who knows more about the subject. I did some copyediting to add wiki links and make the style less breezy and conversational, but this article needs much more work. Szyslak 08:06, 28 Dec 2004 (UTC)
  • History of cinema - needs expansion, currently it only really has early cinematic history fleshed out, the other sections are just a pile of links. - redcountess 22:08, Jan 15, 2005 (UTC)

  • Bastard!! - I merged this article with Bastard!, both articles were in need of attention, and it's no better now. I haven't seen all of the OVA or read all of the manga. -- Philip Nilsson 17:00, 3 Feb 2005 (UTC)
  • Cima Garahau - It took me a while just to find out what this page was talking about. Someone with some experience with Gundam needs to make this page a bit less cryptic. Kelly Martin 07:51, 29 Dec 2004 (UTC)
  • Deathscythe - Bad grammar and confusing. Needs work from some anime expert. Bratsche 17:20, 13 Feb 2005 (UTC)
  • Great Leviathon - A Yu-Gi-Oh! related article. Looks like it was done by kids, so yes, it needs some attention to it. Also, there's a big chance the title of the article could be wrong, but I'm not sure of that. Help would be appreciated.--Kaonashi 01:01, 14 Feb 2005 (UTC)
  • Hawker centre - POV discussion of Singapore's political system, needs more information and major copyedit
  • Satire - Article as it stands includes an unsourced listing of "types of satire," many statements that confuse the difference between satire and parody, and far too many vanity examples. It would be preferable to break the examples off into a "List of satirical works," and leave the satire article for a broad discussion of what satire is, its forms, and its history. - Cobra libre 00:19, 18 Nov 2004 (UTC)
I've moved a bunch of parody-specifc stuff to the talk page. Looks better now, but still needs work, and the list should probably be split into its own article. -Sean Curtin 04:23, Nov 23, 2004 (UTC)
I did some serious copy-editing. This article is shaping up pretty well but still needs some content adjustment. --Onlyemarie 00:51, 8 Feb 2005 (UTC)

  • Black Fury - This article seems to not specify a specific Black Fury character, but all characters named Black Fury. Perhaps the different, but samely named, characters can each have their own entry, followed by a number for differentiation.
  • opus (comic strip) - Little more of a plot summary that appears to be updated near weekly. Needs a more definate, permanent structure like that of its predecessors, Bloom County and outland.
  • Raven (comics): This article is about the Teen Titans member Raven and is focused mainly on the character as she appears in the most recent animated series. It lacks information on the comic books' character.

  • How to read a poem - I was tempted to stick this on VfD, but I hate getting involved with that page, so here I go. Very POV page with little information. Possibly needs a name change to get away from the How-to idea. Maybe something like Literary criticism: poetry?. Filiocht 15:24, Jan 4, 2005 (UTC)

Daughters (band) ((npov)) Basically, the author of this article seems to have something against the band The Daughters. One can argue about the quality of their music, but this is borderline slander.

  • Robert Schumann - Same here, only very few of his major works have their own articles as of now. MikeCapone 22:36, 30 Dec 2004 (UTC)
  • Antonio Salieri - Quite a few issues here; see its talk page for details. In summary, very POV, disputed facts (like Mozart accusing Salieri of attempted murder). --Chan-Ho Suh 02:26, Jan 3, 2005 (UTC)
  • Cab Calloway is just a list of highlights from his career. It desperately needs background information, but I don't know enough about him to do it myself. Mr. Paradox, 7:59 1 Feb 2005
  • Christina Aguilera's Stripped album article doesn't cover the singles "Fighter", "Cant Hold Us Down" and "The Voice Within" as much as the first two singles on the album.
  • Woodford Folk Festival - The woodford folk festival is a massive annual event that involves hundreds of thousands of people and has been around for almost 20 years in some form but the entry is absolutely tiny and does nothing more then acknowledge its existance.

  • Black Belt Testing: Orphan because it talks about the black belt testing at one particular martial arts school, Pallen’s Marshall Arts. It does not even name the martial art involved. Andrew pmk 01:12, 16 Feb 2005 (UTC)

  • Pinball. A lost opportunity. Lots of facts but completely disorganized, and sorely lacking in important areas, especially the history, development and social context of the game. I fully plan to work on this myself, but I want pinball enthusiasts who may not be aware of the shabby state this article is in to have a look, too. This is definitely one of those articles that Wikipedia could use to run circles around Britannica with. JRM 14:29, 2005 Jan 25 (UTC)

Weaving Needs content, organization, pictures, link,... Samuel Wantman 10:59, 5 Feb 2005 (UTC)

  • Theater of the United States - just a list of "random thoughts," as the creator of this article admits in the edit summary. This article needs some major expansion and some actual prose instead of just a list. Szyslak 06:24, 9 Feb 2005 (UTC)
  • Frank Frazetta - the guy who turned Conan The Barbarian into the huge cult classic. Influential in fantasy/science fiction art for more than 50 years, yet has a very brief bio, minimal list of art, and no photos. Something should definately be done. User:Alkivar/sig 04:15, 26 Jan 2005 (UTC)
  • Earl Hofmann - On Google you will find the same short biography over and over again, on at least 40 different sites ("A noted painter and respected teacher ..."). Let's hope Wikipedia was the first to publish this text. We can easily set Wikipedia apart from all the rest by expanding this entry. <KF> 11:06, Jan 10, 2005 (UTC)
