Personal Biography
Makayla Oghenfejiro Oluwayimika Malaka ( born June 27, 2012) is popularly known as Makayla is a Nigerian singer who is passionate about music[1].
Career
Makayla started singing at an early age and released her first single, "Just Dance" at the age of seven. She later released her debut album titled" Eight" (2020) at the age of eight with eight amazing tracks[2]. Her hit track, Grandma Told Me has over 600,000 views on YouTube and it continues to make waves around the globe.
Singles
Towards the end of the year 2020, Makayla released a single titled " Thank you God" in which she urged her audience to stay grateful despite the extraordinary events that took place that year[3].
In February 2021, she released another single out of her sophomore album titled
"Don't Give Up" which is currently making waves on all social media platforms.
On June 27th, 2021, the young artist released her long-awaited sophomore album titled "Nine[4]" which include amazing tracks such as African Princess, Happy Birthday, Dreamer, Older, etc.

Makayla has a growing following on her social media platforms[5] and has also featured on various entertainment and lifestyle blogs and newspapers in Nigeria.
Personal Life
Makayla Oghenefejiro Oluwayimika Malaka was born in Camden, London U.K. on June 27, 2012. She is an only child. Her father, Emmanuel Oghenekaro Malaka, also known as Manie X is an engineer and music producer. Her mother, Adelana Adejumoke Malaka (nee Martins) is a business administrator.
Makayla returned to Nigeria with her family and is currently resident in Lagos State where she attends a primary school whilst pursuing her music career.
Her greatest support system has been her parents who have constantly been a backbone to the young superstar.
