Life and career

Makayla Malaka was born on June 27,2012 in Camden, London, United Kingdom. Her father, Emmanuel Malaka (AKA Manie X) is an engineer and music producer. Her mother Adelana Malaka (nee Martins) is a business administrator. Makayla currently attends primary school in Nigeria while pursuing her music career.

One of Makayla's biggest musical influences is the late King of Pop, Michael Jackson. Makayla was introduced to Michael Jackson's music by her father, Manie, at the age of four[4]. This exposure inspired her to commit to emulating the musical mastery and prowess of the late superstar.[5][6]

Makayla's desire to record her own music at the age of five was initially not taken seriously by her parents as they felt she was too young. However, her persistence made her parents give her a chance to record her first single at the age of six which marked the beginning of her music career.
