Alan Gow (born 9 October 1982 in Glasgow) is a Scottish professional footballer currently playing for Scottish Premier League club Falkirk.

Career

Gow, an attacking midfielder, started his career as a youth player with the now defunct Clydebank. He joined Airdrie United in 2002 where he remained for three years, playing over 75 matches. He joined Falkirk in June 2005[1] where he has become an important member of their squad, helping them retain their SPL status in 2005-06. His performances in 2006-07 led to interest from the Old Firm clubs, Hibernian, Aberdeen and Wolves,[citation needed] but it is believed that Gow's preferred destination would be Rangers, who are his boyhood heroes. On Friday the 26th of January, Falkirk turned down an improved bid from Rangers for Alan. The first offer was £100,000. Falkirk manager John Hughes is said to be holding out for £500,000 in the hope of selling him before he can leave for free in the summer. After failed late attempts to sign Gow before the January transfer window closed, Rangers signed the midfielder for 3 years on a pre-contract agreement for him to join the club in the summer.[2]

On January 30 2007, Alex McLeish named Gow in the Scotland B team.[3]
