Hi, Surge, and welcome to Wikipedia. You're absolutely correct: I looked too quickly and only saw the headline that was making a prediction. I didn't see the sentence it was referencing. Good call, and my sincere apologies. Happens to the best of us! With humble regards, --Tenebrae (talk) 21:26, 25 May 2012 (UTC)

The Avengers (2012 film)
This is a neutral notice of an edit-war occurring at The Avengers (2012 film) --Tenebrae (talk) 13:25, 8 June 2012 (UTC)
- I am sorry, but I have little contusion. Do you mean to say I am engaged in an edit war with someone? If yes, please tell me how, because I am just updating the Box Office amount on the article, nothing else. Thanks Surge_Elec (talk) 15:43, 8 June 2012 (UTC)
- No, no, I was just contacting all of the five most recent editors of the article to let them know of something of concern that was occurring at an article on which they were involved. It's one way we communicate with each other and work as a community of collaborators to build articles together.
- And thank you for updating my template. I knew my 7th year on Wikipedia was coming up soon! With regards, Tenebrae (talk) 12:22, 9 June 2012 (UTC)
- Oh ok, that's what. Thanks for letting me know. And you're welcome for the template update. Happy wiki-birthday to you, regards Surge_Elec (talk) 13:41, 9 June 2012 (UTC)
Service award
Thanks It appears as though you're slightly mistaken: the Vanguard Editor award requires 16 years of editing and Wikipedia has only existed for 11. I wasn't in the first generation of editors, but I've been using the site since 2003 and editing since 2004, so I might be eligible for Master Editor III depending on the date of my first IP edit, which is the second highest that one can presently have. Thanks for your interest, though. —Justin (koavf)❤T☮C☺M☯ 19:07, 15 June 2012 (UTC)
- I am sorry for that mistake. But, I would like to present you the service award of the editor you are right now. There is just one thing. You said that you have been editing since 2003 (which I totally trust), and so you might be a Master Editor III. However when I checked your edit count on Wikipedia "Global User Manager", it says you registered on May 2008. But your edit count shows correct: 1.12 million. So do you think that there is the possibly of an error somewhere? Surge_Elec (talk) 13:35, 16 June 2012 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for October 28
Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited James Cameron, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Blue Ribbon Award (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Retired?
Surge, why are you retiring? Or would you rather not say? Flyer22 (talk) 19:00, 5 December 2012 (UTC)
- My retirement was because I am employed now, and I have work for 10 hours minimum daily. Unfortunately now I cannot find enough time to be able to make edits to Wikipedia anymore. Earlier on, I used to have 2 or 3 hours free everyday, in which I made edits to Wikipedia. Thank you for asking. Surge_Elec (talk) 08:56, 6 December 2012 (UTC)
- Oh, okay. I hope you can find the time to edit here again. And if you do find the time to edit here sporadically, you should go ahead and remove that retirement tag. In the meantime, you'll be missed. Flyer22 (talk) 23:28, 6 December 2012 (UTC)
- You are more open than I am, that's all I can say. Yes, I have removed the retired tag from my pages. I'll make edits whenever I can to Wikipedia. Surge_Elec (talk) 07:09, 7 December 2012 (UTC)
- I was sorry to see you retire too Surge. That said the box office doesn't need to be updated on a daily basis, once a week is enough really if you have less free time but still wish to edit. Congratulations on the job anyway, and good luck with it. Betty Logan (talk) 07:24, 8 December 2012 (UTC)

Main Page appearance
Hello! This is a note to let the main editors of the article List of highest-grossing films know that it will be appearing as the main page featured list on February 25, 2013. You can view the TFL blurb at Wikipedia:Today's featured list/February 25, 2013. If you think it is necessary to change the main date, you can request it with the featured list directors The Rambling Man (talk · contribs), Dabomb87 (talk · contribs) or Giants2008 (talk · contribs), or at Wikipedia talk:Today's featured list. If the previous blurb needs tweaking, you might change it—following the instructions of the suggested formatting. If this article needs any attention or maintenance, it would be preferable if that could be done before its appearance on the Main Page so Wikipedia doesn't look bad. Thanks! Tbhotch.™ Grammatically incorrect? Correct it! See terms and conditions. 04:50, 24 February 2013 (UTC)
Traditionally, the highest-grossing films have been war films, musicals and historical dramas, but franchise films have been the best performers in the 21st century, especially the Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings and Pirates of the Caribbean series. The only films in the top ten that do not form a franchise are the top two, Avatar and Titanic, both directed by James Cameron. Disney has enjoyed success with its Pixar brand, of which the Toy Story films have been the best performers. James Bond, Star Wars, and Indiana Jones are still among the highest-grossing franchises, despite starting over thirty years ago. Gone with the Wind (poster pictured) was the highest-grossing film for 25 years and, adjusting for inflation, would remain so.

A question
Surge, the issue with the supporter has nothing to do with you or whether the list will be promoted. The user who supported was not basing his support on the list meeting FL criteria, but on the perceived importance of the topic. This is not a valid reason for putting a star on a page, and Chris was trying to highlight that for the benefit of myself and the other featured list directors. Now we can take that into account when making promotion/archiving decisions. There's nothing you have to fix, and the list can still be promoted if other reviewers think it is worthy. In short, don't worry about the situation too much. Giants2008 (Talk) 23:24, 14 May 2013 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of List of Indian films nominated for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film
The article List of Indian films nominated for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Speedy deletion nomination of List of accolades received by Star Wars film series

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged List of accolades received by Star Wars film series for deletion, because it doesn't appear to contain any encyclopedic content. Take a look at our suggestions for essential content in short articles to learn what should be included.

MTV Roadies (season 16) moved to draftspace
An article you recently created, MTV Roadies (season 16), does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. AD Talk 18:51, 10 January 2019 (UTC)
Your draft article, Draft:MTV Roadies (season 16)
Hello, Surge elec. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "MTV Roadies".
In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply and remove the {{db-afc}}
, {{db-draft}}
, or {{db-g13}}
code.
If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Hi, thanks for message. You can sign your comments automatically using four tildes ~~~~. I didn't post here when I deleted because I saw the "Retired" message. I deleted your article because it did not provide independent verifiable sources to enable us to verify the facts and show that it meets the notability guidelines. Sources that are not acceptable include those linked to the subject's organisation or company, press releases, YouTube, IMDB, social media and other sites that can be self-edited, blogs, websites of unknown or non-reliable provenance, and sites that are just reporting what the company or organisation claims or interviewing the author or publisher. Since the book is "upcoming" it can't meet the notability criteria, so what we have is an article sourced only to an affiliated website which consists of a plot summary and a a notification of when we can buy it; it's basically a publisher's blurb, whatever the intent, and therefore advertising. At best it's too soon since your text would need to have independent third-party sources to show how it meets our notability criteria, and that can't happen until it's out. For now, you could make the article a redirect, #Redirect [[Diary of a Wimpy Kid (book series)]] ⋅ Jimfbleak - talk to me? 10:17, 4 June 2020 (UTC)
Special Barnstar...?
Hi! You awarded me a special barnstar, saying that I had promoted List of accolades received by Avengers: Endgame to FL status. I know you deleted it later saying that the barnstar was not accepted by some people. I was just wondering, why did you think that I promoted the article? As of now, it is not an FL. Also, what is meant by "not accepted by some people"? Is the awarding of barnstars being monitored?
(P.S. I am relatively new here — I don't have much experience on Wikipedia.)
Thank you! ☺ -Caleb KG (talk) 12:07, 14 July 2020 (UTC)
- I had given barnstars to the users who made at least one edit to the list. However, two users refused to accept it. It's very helpful. Please would you consider tagging them as minor edits so they do not appear in the watchlists of editors who filter minor edits out? Cheers. soibangla (talk) 14:05, 27 August 2021 (UTC)
- Yes, am tagging them as minor edits now. Thanks. Surge_Elec (talk) 14:08, 27 August 2021 (UTC)
- Links in cites do not help.Slatersteven (talk) 11:14, 30 August 2021 (UTC)
- Well, in featured lists, they are linked. Surge_Elec (talk) 11:15, 30 August 2021 (UTC)
- If possible, you should try to combine the edits into as few as possible, to reduce watchlist strain. Good improvements though, thank you. — Goszei (talk) 07:14, 14 September 2021 (UTC)
- Ok, let me think how to do this. Surge_Elec (talk) 23:16, 14 September 2021 (UTC)
Disruptive Editing on 2021 in film by Stan Lee 3000
There is this Indian editor who keeps disruptive editing on the article by removing sourced material and misplace false information.
His movie had a mere $40 million that is not even worth mentioning and he keeps reverting it and removing references.

- You can discuss about it and give your inputs on the talkpage. Surge_Elec (talk) 13:59, 2 November 2021 (UTC)
Got it sir.
I will do that and please keep an eye on the page if "Stan Lee 3000" comes back. He is an indian with a English name. Don't know why and he has the 3000, maybe he used this name many times?
