Image Tagging for Image:Tiamet.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Tiamet.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.

Category:MK Main Characters
Did you need help with something? I'm just trying to figure out what you are trying to do with Category:MK Main Characters? If so, just ask on my talk page. -- Ricky81682 (talk) 19:35, 17 June 2006 (UTC)
License tagging for Image:Herald.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:5-5.jpg. Wikipedia gets hundreds of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:

Meat
First of all, remember to sign your posts on talk pages to make things easier to follow. Second, Meat is already listed on the Minor Mortal Kombat characters. If you want to add Meat to Category:MK Main Characters, he needs a separate article (it should be silly to put the entire Minor MK characters article as a major character). From there, you would simply need to add at the bottom of the article (stylistically, it's done that way) he will be there. For more information. the main article on categories is Wikipedia:Categorization. If you need anything else, just ask. -- Ricky81682 (talk) 17:48, 19 June 2006 (UTC)
Image descriptions
If you wanted to edit, for example, Image:5-5.jpg, there is a "edit this page" option on the top that works exactly the same as for articles. Also, can you put your posts on the bottom of my talk page? The easiest way is to simply click on the "plus" that is next to the "edit this page" option, and it will format the heading and section appropriately. Also again, remember to sign your post on talk pages. It is really difficult to follow if you don't sign. -- Ricky81682 (talk) 18:03, 20 June 2006 (UTC)
Image:Tiamatmk.jpg
I just went back and fixed your image tagging for Image:Tiamatmk.jpg. Since it is not your creation (Midway who created Mortal Kombat owns the rights to that image), it is not your right to make the decision to release the image under GFDL. However, although that image is probably copyrighted by Midway, we can argue that under fair use, we can use its image to describe the character in question. This is probably the same logic you can use for Image:5-5.jpg. -- Ricky81682 (talk) 18:10, 20 June 2006 (UTC)
Signing your posts
Hi, you don't sign your posts with that unsigned stuff. That's just for my record keeping (to remember who is talking to me). You just need to write ~~~~ to post your signature. There's more information here, including how to customize your signature (which some people tend to go overboard with). -- Ricky81682 (talk) 01:43, 21 June 2006 (UTC)
Curse words
Some people may mind, but it's still your user page. Wikipedia:User page has more details on exactly what's allowed. Official policy, for articles, is that Wikipedia is not censored and that profanity is allowed. Believe me, a little profanity is fine; there have been some who went really overboard with offensive images and text. -- Ricky81682 (talk) 21:57, 22 June 2006 (UTC)
Image on user page
Two things I've noticed. First, unless I'm wrong, the dates on your signature are off a month (this is June, not May). Second, you should remove that Image:200px-Scorpionkjpg.jpg image on your user page; you can do an in-line link (just add a column after the brackets so it's like :Image:200px-Scorpionkjpg.jpg) but not the image itself. This is because the image you uploaded doesn't have a free license and is only usable under fair use; under point nine of our policy, "Fair use images should be used only in the article namespace." I really don't care too much about these legal distinctions, but there are some users here are more strict on that kind of stuff and tend to removes of that type from user pages. Don't take it personal; I know that this is an extremely detailed, specific, obscure part of Wikipedia and will probably never ever come up again, unless you find an interest in this stuff. -- Ricky81682 (talk) 07:07, 24 June 2006 (UTC)

Meat
Let me see if I can explain this more clearly this time. You can put only articles into categories. Editing the category itself does nothing in regard to specific entries. If you want Meat as a main character, you will need to create a separate article for him; otherwise, it will take the entire article with it into the category. By the way, the category is now known as Category:Mortal Kombat main characters so don't use anything else (if you look at the code, you will see that I add a colon before the Category so that it is simply visilbe and not making your talk page a part of the category (the same also works for images and templates). -- Ricky81682 (talk) 19:17, 22 July 2006 (UTC)
- If you need help creating a new article, just ask me. Actually, it's just best to copy the information from List of minor Mortal Kombat characters to Meat (Mortal Kombat) (say what you are doing in your edit summary). You also should edit the template to add him in as well (I can show you how to do that as well). -- Ricky81682 (talk) 19:19, 22 July 2006 (UTC)
- Well, I'd do a simple cut-and-paste. Open up both links I gave above. The link for Meat should simply be a redirect back to the minor characters article. However, you will see on the second line (just below the title), it says "(Redirected from Meat (Mortal Kombat))" which will get you directly back to the old article. I would then simply cut the information from the Meat section of the minor characters article and paste it onto the Meat page (remove the redirect) and add at the bottom of the Meat article. Make sure to say what you are doing in your edit summaries or else, people may think you are simply vandalizing the article. Go ahead and do it. I'll watch and help if there's any problems. -- Ricky81682 (talk) 19:40, 22 July 2006 (UTC)
MK template
If you look at the markup for any article (take List of minor Mortal Kombat characters at the bottom, you see Mortal Kombat series, which means that you have to edit template:Mortal Kombat series. Editing the template is exactly the same way as editing an article. Make sure to link to the actual Meat article and not just Meat, like Meat. -- Ricky81682 (talk) 18:19, 25 July 2006 (UTC)
Starting a new page
See Help:Starting a new page. Actually, it might be a good idea to just go through the help link on the left side of the page. The Wikipedia:Editing FAQ is a pretty good source. If you keep needing to find the same information, why not put a "for my reference" section on your user page like I do or better yet, put it on a user subpage? I'd put some your raps on subpages if you want to keep your userpage short. And don't worry about asking me for help; if I take too long, you can always use the Wikipedia:Help desk. -- Ricky81682 (talk) 22:08, 30 July 2006 (UTC)
- If you look at my edits, you'll see that it's a completely random series of articles; no real pattern at all. I sometimes just see what people are working on and try to fix up articles for them. Frankly, I love learning stuff through the random article function. A word of warning: don't go nuts with subpages and stuff. While people are generally tolerant of stuff, if you spend all day playing on user pages, people will remind you that the goal is to create an encyclopedia. Also, remember that anybody can edit your work (good or bad). -- Ricky81682 (talk) 22:19, 30 July 2006 (UTC)
Re: MK arenas
Yeah, I think that the arenas page is coming along. It still needs plenty of work, though.
A couple things that need to be kept in mind:
- Everything should be a complete sentence. "Made its first appearance..." is bad form; although it may get repetitive, "This arena made its first appearance..."
- Spell-check is your friend. :)
Really, I think there's only so much that you and I can do on it before other people have to start working on it. EVula 04:27, 7 August 2006 (UTC)
Oh, and also...
...could you please start signing your posts with ~~~~
? The way you do it now, while it does display your name, doesn't display the time you posted, which is important information when reading responses. EVula 04:39, 7 August 2006 (UTC)
Orphaned fair use image (Image:Sub-zero-spinerip.png)
Thanks for uploading Image:Sub-zero-spinerip.png. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that the image is unlicensed for use on Wikipedia and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Your Comment
I was reading on Haunted Angels talk page about your comment on Christians. t was not very nice at all. I agree 100% with Haunted Angel in that long, pointless argument with the anyonmous guy. But I also dont think you should attack all Christians because of one. That guy was not a true Christian for sure and he was a vandal who should have been banned premently. When I took Haunted Angels side in the fight the anyomous guy blanked my whole user page and replaced it with "This guy is a sinner". He got banned for a few days but when the ban expired he went right back to vandalism. He added to the article Coronation Street some information about his imaginary country. So I defintly agree he was wrong and should have been baned long ago. But I just want to say I am nothing like him and most of my Christian friends are not so dont attack all Christians because of one anyomous nut case. H.J. Bellamy 17:44, 17 November 2006 (UTC)
did you read it all? it said i know lots of Christians who dont whine as much as you, but in some parts i was out of line, i wasn't saying it to offend other people, but it came out that way so i found out, but in any case, i wasn't using it, to attack you, mainly him, even so i should've thought my actions out before i said my comment, but most of it still stands. What the hell?
Could you please explain what this [1] is about? EVula // talk // ☯ // 22:11, 20 November 2006 (UTC)
i was told about that & its not staying, unless the provider of the information gives source, so for temparary its there, until tomorrow, so before i call him a liar, i want proof of this information aswell, but if its true then i'll let you know, but if he don't get back to me with a resource of this, i will remove it myself fair? Lil'Layzie-One 22:20, 20 November 2006 (UTC)Lil'Layzie-One
- It doesn't make any sense whatsoever. Wait until it actually has a source (and then please cite it, as I'm terribly curious) before adding it to the article. EVula // talk // ☯ // 22:23, 20 November 2006 (UTC)

About your images
I noticed that you have been uploading a lot of images recently. I know that you're acting in the best of intentions of wanting to improve the articles, but I want to point out according to the fair use policy here (all video game screenshots are considered "fair use"), one of the guidelines state that we should only use a "limited" amount of images. You have uploaded several images recently, and I'm not sure if they're entirely necessary. Here are three examples I have seen:
- This image of Apep and Wue Lae are both very small. One of the guidelines state that fair use images should be of a reasonable low-resolution, but in these cases, they're so small that nothing can actually be determined from looking at them. This makes the images themselves somewhat purposeless to even have, and probably best not needed because of that. I know it's not easy to find good pics of either Apep or Wu Lae, both being majorly insignificant characters, but you should really consider whether the image that are available are even worth uploading.
- You uploaded a picture for Kochal, but you also admit that this is only speculation. We're working in the articles to avoid most non-notable speculation of all kind, but an image that only exists because of speculation (and one that happens to be of an extremely minor, rarely mentioned, and overall unimportant character) is certainly violating the fair use policies here.
- You uploaded a new picture for the Living Trees. However, you already uploaded a picture of the Living Forest which could depict the trees just as suitably, if not even better. Originally, you even had two Living Tree pictures up. Again, it's best to keep the number of images limited, and, if possible, re-use images wherever possible.
I don't mean to be harsh, but the guidelines here are in fact very clearly stated. I am merely offering you a word of warning, but other editors may not be so lenient, and they might start removing images left and right. Remember, it is not necessary by any means that we have to have a picture for every single little thing in all the articles. In some cases, consider that it may be better to just have no image at all. MarphyBlack 23:28, 20 November 2006 (UTC)
thats good advice, thanks for the warning. Lil'Layzie-One 23:34, 20 November 2006 (UTC)Lil'Layzie-One
