*Support. As discussed here and here, the above comment by Andrewa seems to flow from an inconsistency in our policy. Because WP:OFFICIALNAMES is misquoting WP:NAMECHANGES, I belive the latter should take precedence. I also think this is the correct outcome for the reasons I've stated in those discussions. I've C&P the most relevant part below:
The name changed 5 years ago. Since then, there has been ample and consistent usage in primary sources of the new name. Unsurprisingly, the amusement park isn't generating steady third party coverage, and it doesn't appear that usage either way can be shown by seconary sources. While we can't be completely sure what people down in Arkansas are actually calling it (I would guess Magic Springs, both before and after the name change), the ubiquitous primary coverage strongly suggests the new name is established by now. A user who, say, is invited to the park and wants to find out about it, is going to look for it under its current name. If we were creating a new article, I don't think anyone would advocate for putting it at the old name.
Havelock Jones (talk) 10:50, 17 November 2021 (UTC) |

*How about just Magic Springs, which already redirects here? (I assumed it was ambiguous but it turns out it is not.) Even a casual search shows that just about everyone calls it "Magic Springs", including themselves, so I do not see the need for the long-winded and official-sounding name. Requested move 2 November 2021
It has been proposed in this section that Magic Springs be renamed and moved to Magic Springs Theme and Water Park. Magic Springs and Crystal Falls → Magic Springs Theme and Water Park – Park no longer calls the water park Crystal Falls —JlACEer (talk) 17:03, 2 November 2021 (UTC)
- I don't think the current page title was ever the correct name of the park. It used to be Magic Springs & Crystal Falls (with an ampersand).—JlACEer (talk) 17:05, 2 November 2021 (UTC)
- Move: Google news search for "Magic Springs" alone yields several recent sources (mostly the sentinel-record) using this new title, which can be given extra weight per WP:NAMECHANGES. As for the ampersand, we should only use it if it's part of a proper name (WP:AMPERSAND), but sources are mixed on usage and the official site uses "and" in the logo and footer, but & on the page title, so defaulting to "and" seems appropriate. - Are you sure? The first three pages of results from my Google search were all primary sources. They don't count. Andrewa (talk) 03:05, 12 November 2021 (UTC)
- Support.
Havelock Jones (talk) 10:50, 17 November 2021 (UTC)The name changed 5 years ago. In the Family Rides section, someone listed a ride called Delianate but this has not been anounced yet. How do we know if this is true?
Sorry. The highest inversion in the world, in 2006, is "Abismo" in "Parque de Atracciones de Madrid" (Madrid Amusement Park)in Spain (Europe). X Coaster has 150'11", Abismo 151'7"
accident from 2006
There are two news articles linked over at Incidents at independent parks regarding Twist and Shout. They have conflicting info regarding the date the incident occurred and the age of the victim. Can anyone confirm, please? Thanks. SpikeJones 03:31, 12 June 2007 (UTC)
