This article is not written to Wiki standards. As the case is ongoing, with very little information released thus far, all that exists here is a rehashing of events with the apparent goal to make the defendant look bad.
Honestly, I'm not entirely convinced that it shouldn't be scrapped and redone entirely. The Aftermath section alone is almost nothing but inflammatory quotes from media reports. Blisteringsilence (talk) 22:18, 8 May 2015 (UTC)
- I don't see any such "inflammatory" reports. It is what it is, unfortunately. - Cwobeel (talk) 00:46, 9 May 2015 (UTC)
- While that is certainly your opinion to hold, that doesn't negate the need for both tags you removed. I'm reverting them back up, until additional information is released in a formal setting, and can be added. This article is purely sourced from media reports, and last I checked, encyclopedias don't rely on quotes from the media. If you have an issue with either tag, please address them here. Blisteringsilence (talk) 01:32, 9 May 2015 (UTC)
- I agree that the Aftermath section seems extremely slanted. It is shaped primarily by quotes from Smolen, a man who's job as a lawyer is to be biased. I would lean toward an entire re-write of this section. Kjphill1977 (talk) 09:20, 8 June 2015 (UTC)

Requested move 21 November 2021
It has been proposed in this section that Killing of Eric Harris be renamed and moved to Shooting of Eric Harris. A bot will list this discussion on the requested moves current discussions subpage within an hour of this tag being placed. Please base arguments on article title policy, and keep discussion succinct and civil. Please use {{subst:requested move}} . Do not use {{requested move/dated}} directly. |
2015 shooting of Eric Harris → Shooting of Eric Harris – This would revert a bold move of 5 years ago. The year is not ordinarily included in similar article titles. There was another Eric Harris who was shot in a different year, but only after he shot other people, and it doesn't really seem necessary to include the year for disambiguation. The other Eric Harris was shot in 1999 – see Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold and Columbine High School massacre. Note that Eric Harris is a redirect to Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold#Eric Harris. Readers looking for information about the other Eric Harris would probably not look for it using "Shooting of Eric Harris". The proposed target name already redirects here, and there is already a hatnote about the other Eric Harris at the top of the article. — BarrelProof (talk) 18:06, 21 November 2021 (UTC)
