::When you say you reverted from me and others, that indicates that you are waging a solo war against multiple editors. I am trying to be as straight forward with you as possible - there IS already a consensus. Mr. E, Hoopstercat, Stickguy, and I have ALREADY discussed and resolved this issue. We all agreed they are news programs, not talk shows. How would extensions of the Today Show be in any way talk shows? There is already a consensus amongst the four frequent editors of this page. In fact, Mr. E reverted this edit from you a few months ago. If you want to contribute, you are welcome to do so, but you need to stop changing this edit when it has already gotten the consensus you demand. Check the talk pages. Thematrix92498, you are invited to the Teahouse
Hi Thematrix92498! Thanks for contributing to Wikipedia. |
2020–21 United States network television schedule (daytime)
Look, I was trying to fix the schedule step by step because it's a mess. The Mon-Fri 6 a.m. hour is not given by the networks, as they mostly air local newscasts since 4:30 a.m.; on Sundays someone added the 6 a.m. hour unnecessarily, and don't get me started on the sports' airtimes. But since you didn't let me finish my editions I won't bother, I just wanted to let you know what was wrong. Greetings. — MrE (talk) 19:47, 1 February 2021 (UTC)
My edits have nothing to do with the weekend, only Monday-Friday. The 6am hour is listed on every Monday-Friday Wikipedia daytime schedule available. Removing the 6am hour now would be breaking precedent. The networks have scheduled programs that air starting from 3 and 4am, it's not local programming. Happily finish your editions. I am merely keeping the Monday-Friday schedule consistent. — Thematrix92498 (talk) 19:53, 1 February 2021 (UTC)
Actually networks offer programming until ~4:30 a.m., and later most affiliates air local news/programming until 7 a.m., that's why I removed it. It has been going on that way for a long time. If you want you can check the schedules from every network on their websites, TV Guide or even local listings. — MrE (talk) 20:03, 1 February 2021 (UTC)
I'm not entirely sure whether most affiliate stations opt to air network newscasts or local newscasts prior to 7 a.m. If you feel listing these newscasts is inaccurate, I will remove them. I am more familiar with actual network daytime shows. Days of Our Lives, for example, doesn't actually air at 1 p.m. in much of the country, but 1 p.m. is its network recommended slot. I believe 10 a.m. is the network recommended slot for Let's Make a Deal despite it airing at 3 p.m. on many affiliates. — Thematrix92498 (talk) 20:13, 1 February 2021 (UTC)
Yes, the Let's Make a Deal hour was wrong but I didn't move it, I was just focusing on the early morning and weekend sports airtimes. — MrE (talk) 20:16, 1 February 2021 (UTC)
Ok, I will delete the Monday-Friday early morning newscasts. Thanks for your edits. Thematrix92498 (talk) 20:59, 1 February 2021 (UTC)
Daytime/late night schedules
I wanted to ask you what is your opinion on a particular topic: what do you think of the split of the weeknights schedule? As only NBC would have different Fri scheduling, this does not mean that it can't be added to the weeknights' schedule, as it's a waste of space and could be easily replaced with a note. I talked about this on the editor's talk page but he did not seem to understand it. Also, I'm getting tired of that particular user not putting the adecquate style to the schedules and adding unnecessary information, so I'm considering to retire from working on the daytime/late night schedules. Let me know what you think on the first matter. Thanks. — MrE (talk) 21:47, 7 June 2021 (UTC)
- I’m happy you messaged, I’ve been meaning to tell you how great the current 2021-22 daytime schedule looks. My opinion: the splitting is a complete waste and nearly pointless. It’s becoming aggravating to see users completely change these network schedules when they don’t really know what they’re doing and aren’t familiar with precedent or guidelines (a few years back someone actually filled in an entire daytime schedule not realizing that there’s a difference between syndicated and network programming). I would not blame you for retiring. Admittedly, I’ve been busy and haven’t been able to help much lately, but I will step up since this is clearly getting out of hand with that specific user (amongst a few others as well). I encourage you to stay, but this is exhausting and it can’t all be on you. Honestly, if there is some way Hoopstercat can be reported, it may be time to follow through. I have no problem with people learning how to edit and correcting things, but they are completely changing pages and this isn’t acceptable. Let me know what I can do to help. Thematrix92498 (talk) 22:21, 7 June 2021 (UTC)
- Thanks for your opinion, I'll try to do my best to keep contributing. Also, I've been warning Hoopstercat several times, so I don't think that this still is a problem of misunderstanding. On the other hand, would you mind undoing the edits? I asked for your opinion so it doesn't become an edit war. — MrE (talk) 22:45, 7 June 2021 (UTC)
- I posted on the 2021-22 late night talk page in hopes of getting some general consensus on this so I can undo Hoopstercat’s revisions on both the 2021-22 schedule in addition to the 2020-21 schedule. That user is already attempting to create a separate Olympics schedule for NBC in addition to the four other schedules on the page. This is way excessive. If no one else posts on the talk page in a few days, I will just go ahead and undo the edits myself. Thematrix92498 (talk) 23:24, 7 June 2021 (UTC)
- Okay then, thanks for stepping up. Greetings! — MrE (talk) 23:45, 7 June 2021 (UTC)
ArbCom 2021 Elections voter message
3rd Hour and H&J
What's your deal?
3rd Hour and H&J are not news shows - they are chat shows like The View or The Talk.
Also you don't threaten me about if I revert I'll never edit this article again - last I checked, you don't own the article and acting like you do is a no-no around here.
You have a disagreement, let's let consensus figure it out, but you DO NOT get to act like some big bad gunslinger and threaten people...this ain't the old west, and this ain't YOUR town...others can come in too.
Vjmlhds (talk) 17:27, 26 December 2021 (UTC)
- I’m aggressive because these programs are verified according to how stations label them. They’re labeled as news programs. The Today Show was broadcast as a straight four hour news program for over ten years. The only reason why NBC even split the third and fourth hour from the rest of the block is because they wanted to count the numbers for their daytime lineup so it wouldn’t only consist of Days of Our Lives. I’ve reverted this edit so many times from you and others, I’m tired of it. You didn’t discuss this on the talk page, you’re not a moderator of this page, and frankly, reverting this edit every few months is extremely defiant on your part. There are a total of four moderators for the daytime schedule. If you make this edit again, we will contact admin.
I’ve had it with the constant nit-picking on the daytime schedules. Outside of GMA3, a new daytime program hasn’t been launched by the networks in over ten years. There is absolutely no reason why you and other users need to constantly screw with these schedules. Thematrix92498 (talk) 18:11, 26 December 2021 (UTC)
