I went through and added sources to the notable people that you repeatedly deleted that I had added. I also used your standards to delete other unsourced "notable people" for Denton County -- some of which like Gordon McClendon, Sly Stone and Texas Watson I had added personally under another name in the past -- as they did not meet your standards but had somehow escaped your watchful eye. I would recommend their restoration of course. I was born and raised in Denton and am baffled by your selective and un-constructive deletion efforts which are arbitrary (as I demonstrate) and lack due diligence (which I also demonstrate). I appreciate the dedication of volunteers who add information and hope you can be a more constructive member of this community in the future. — Preceding unsigned comment added by XhainXpert (talk • contribs) 20:31, 8 January 2022 (UTC) |

Verifiability Policy
Hi @Magnolia677:, I am new to Wikipedia and would love to improve my edits and contributions. You removed parts of my edit due to the verifiability policy. I am unsure what parts of the contribution were not verifiable. The sources are in Dutch as the University of Groningen is a Dutch institution and finding comparable sources in English is nearly impossible. Could you point me to where I went wrong so I can improve and add some value?
Thank you in advance! (JoshStev (talk) 01:05, 1 December 2021 (UTC))
- @JoshStev: You added text plus a source to support your text. When I looked at the source, it did not support your text, so I deleted your edits. Please see WP:CITEWEB: "Please link to the URL of the specific web page where the referenced content can be found". Thank you. Magnolia677 (talk) 18:16, 3 December 2021 (UTC)
I would also like you to stop deleting my factual posts. If you find them in question, please look them up to verify. Thanks.
@Magnolia677 Each of my sources are factual. Please do not remove information based on your own conservative values. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Pensadora956 (talk • contribs) 01:20, 7 December 2021 (UTC) I agree with this poster. @Magnolia677 removes content without performing their due diligence to make sure that deletions are justified. I am new to this community but this individual would be a first I would flag for unconstructive contributions if this pattern of behaviour continues.
Allen Texas Election History Edit Reversion
Hi. You reverted an edit I made to the page of the city of Allen Texas, citing that the edit had "unsourced content" and a "dead link;" however, I could not find any dead links in any part of my edit that you reverted. I followed the same citation conventions for city election results that pages for cities like Dallas, Richardson, and Plano use in simply linking to County election result archive pages. All of the data I used to calculate the election result totals could be found in the documents available on that page. Did I format my citation incorrectly? I would like more details regarding why my edits were reverted due to the amount of time it took to gather and analyze the information I used for it. OutlawRun (talk) 22:12, 30 November 2021 (UTC)
- @OutlawRun: You sourced your edit with this link. Magnolia677 (talk) 22:26, 30 November 2021 (UTC)
- @Magnolia677: Yes I did. The link works perfectly fine for me and takes me to the right place. Was the issue that the citation was a link in and of itself and not formatted like a regular citation? OutlawRun (talk) 22:31, 30 November 2021 (UTC)
- @OutlawRun: The link doesn't work. I tried it on two browsers, and an anonymous proxy based in the US. All bring back the message: "This page can't be displayed. Contact support for additional information. The Occurance Number is: N/A." Magnolia677 (talk) 23:01, 30 November 2021 (UTC)
- @Magnolia677: I don't know what is going wrong with the link or why it is not working for you. I went ahead and copied over the citation from Dallas' page onto this one. The links both citations use are exactly the same, but maybe this one will work better because it is formatted in the same way as a page that uses the same citation for the same purpose. OutlawRun (talk) 23:13, 30 November 2021 (UTC)
- @OutlawRun: Does the link https://www.collincountytx.gov/elections/election_results/Pages/result_archive.aspx work for you? Magnolia677 (talk) 23:27, 30 November 2021 (UTC)
- @Magnolia677: Yes. It does. OutlawRun (talk) 23:29, 30 November 2021 (UTC)

Longview, TX Revision
Thanks for monitoring the Longview, TX page so closely. It's a big help.
I undid your revision removing the listing of directors. It's totally a judgement call, but without that information the entire section is lacking.
Thanks again. Your edits make the City of Longview's presence on Wikipedia better!

- @Icewolf1990: A consensus of editors at WP:USCITIES#Government have agreed that the level of detail you added is unnecessary. Please discuss on the article's talk page before reverting again. Thank you. Magnolia677 (talk) 18:05, 3 December 2021 (UTC)
Quincy University
I went back to the list at Quincy University and should have added back the dates (after having ENSURED that the source is fully verifiable WITHIN the LEAD of the article being pulled from). Please take another look if you'd like. Also, I didn't notice a prior edit from you on Quincy University, what brought you to that page? Thanks for the feedback regardless, I am getting the hang of this whole process you were asking for finally, it may add several steps, but I think it is best in the end... ♥Th78blue (They/Them/Their • talk)♥ 23:48, 6 December 2021 (UTC)
Ski Cross Image Deletion
Hi. You deleted an image from the page Ski Cross mentioning that it has no improvements. I have got that picture from a member already working with their team. Kindly undelete that picture. Thank You. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Matt Pascal (talk • contribs) 18:20, 13 December 2021 (UTC)
- @Matt Pascal: Two editors, myself and User:Ohnoitsjamie, have deleted your photos. Please take a moment to read MOS:IMAGES. Thank you. Magnolia677 (talk) 19:11, 13 December 2021 (UTC)
--Matt Pascal (talk) 11:26, 14 December 2021 (UTC) Appreciated. I just want to know if it was the picture quality issue or any other reason. Kindly help. --Matt Pascal (talk) 11:26, 14 December 2021 (UTC)
- @Matt Pascal: I did not see how the image improved the article, per MOS:IMAGERELEVANCE. Magnolia677 (talk) 12:16, 14 December 2021 (UTC)
Basically that image showed ski cross racers in front of their club house. The image seemed relevant to the page and one of the key racers of that group sent me that image to upload it on that page. Is there any possibility that you can re upload that image?Matt Pascal (talk) 13:05, 15 December 2021 (UTC)
- Your licensing claim for that photo was dubious at best. It's clearly a scan from a magazine or print, yet you claim it as your own work. OhNoitsJamie Talk 13:37, 15 December 2021 (UTC)
Edit
I'm new to using Wikipedia, I'm not sure how to directly message, but I was hoping to discuss what I did wrong with my citations on my owyhee county addition. Billy the kid12 (talk) 18:30, 15 December 2021 (UTC)
- @Billy the kid12: Thank you for writing. You made a long edit, and then added your sources in the edit summary, but they should have been added to the body of the text. I left a message on your talk page with a link which will help you. If you get stuck let me know. Magnolia677 (talk) 18:40, 15 December 2021 (UTC)
Owyhee county
I watched a YouTube video and I think I added the citations correctly this time, does it look good now? Billy the kid12 (talk) 18:43, 15 December 2021 (UTC)
- @Billy the kid12: Thanks for adding that. It passes the test for a reference, but it could be a bit more detailed. Have a look at the link I left you. Cheers! Magnolia677 (talk) 21:18, 15 December 2021 (UTC)
Just wanted to bring this to your attention..
I just wanted to bring [1] this to your attention. Wasn't sure if it was appropriate for this user to take your warranted warnings off his talk page, especially since they clearly have a problem being civil, looking through their edit summary. Spf121188 (talk) 20:18, 15 December 2021 (UTC)
- @Spf121188: Thanks for that. They can remove the warning if they like (it means they read it). Cheers!
- Fair enough! Just wanted to make sure :) Happy editing and cheers! Spf121188 (talk) 21:18, 15 December 2021 (UTC)
- @Spf121188: It's all in WP:UP#CMT. Whenever I message an editor about a problem, I always check their talk page history first to see what's been deleted. Cheers. Magnolia677 (talk) 21:25, 15 December 2021 (UTC)

FYI
Hi Magnolia,
I just wanted to make you aware of this appeal. I've also included a request for a 1-way IBAN in the event the user is unblocked. Nosebagbear (talk) 12:06, 21 December 2021 (UTC)

- @Nosebagbear: Are my pings turned off? Do you know how I can turn them back on? Thanks! Magnolia677 (talk) 12:22, 21 December 2021 (UTC)
- Ah, I took that judgement because Nick said they were switched off during that discussion, I may be wrong!. Let's test - if @Magnolia677: works, you should have multiple notifications appear when I write on your talk page Nosebagbear (talk) 12:27, 21 December 2021 (UTC)
- @Nosebagbear: Just one notification. I'll dig around in my preferences and see if I turned them off. Cheers! Magnolia677 (talk) 12:29, 21 December 2021 (UTC)

Deleting information about school
Hello, I have written about a district program that is at the prince of wales secondary school. I have read the guidelines and there is no promotional material. It is the most highly sought after program in the school district and should not be effectively erased from Wikipedia. The program is at risk of being taken away and having it repeatedly removed from Wikipedia is not making the situation any better. Why should the existence of such a program be removed from Wikipedia? The same standards are not being applied to the rest of the article. Gratefulsloth (talk) 18:41, 3 January 2022 (UTC)
- @Gratefulsloth: You added a paragraph about a district-wide program called "Prince of Wales Mini School", which is located inside Prince of Wales Secondary School. The only source you cited was the school website. I went looking online for a secondary source to support the notability (not existence) of "Prince of Wales Mini School", and found nothing. A consensus of editors who created WP:WPSCH/AG frown upon relying on school websites to support edits, and while WP:PRIMARY does not forbid the use of primary sources, you have done so to support text for a non-notable program. This makes your edit promotional. Please find a reliable secondary source to support your edit. Thanks. Magnolia677 (talk) 23:19, 3 January 2022 (UTC)
Please have the same standards for the rest of the programs offered on the page- every other program cites only the school website. I would consider a program such as the Mini School with 140 students more notable than the program with 8 students (GOLD, on the same page, left untouched by you). Nevertheless, I have added multiple sources. Gratefulsloth (talk) 23:39, 3 January 2022 (UTC)
Nina Hartley is very notable for her feminism. She published several articles, spoke at universities and is a founding member for a feminist porn foundation. The fact that you can't wrap your head around that or are willing to do research your self is your own issue but not that of the worlds. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.183.232.66 (talk) 14:52, 4 January 2022 (UTC)

Dermot Seymour, List of Northern Irish artists
Hi. Can you please explain the reasoning for removing this artist from the NI list when he is clearly notable? Suburbanabstrakt (talk) 14:53, 6 January 2022 (UTC)
- @Suburbanabstrakt: My edit summary was clear as a mud-free river. Magnolia677 (talk) 15:28, 6 January 2022 (UTC)
Hello again. Indeed it was. Very clearly you are mistaken in this instance: "Not Notable" -Aosdana is the premier cultural institution in Ireland, the elite of the elite if you like. Inclusion is from election by one's peers only, and membership is strictly limited to 250 members. RUA is one the leading artist organisations in Ireland, of which Seymour has also been elected to it's second tier through a rigorous election and election process. Seymour has shown internationally virtually every year since 1981 in New York, Berlin and Ireland. Highly notable. "Wikipedia article was deleted" -the Wikipedia article was deleted due to plagiarism, not on grounds of notability. Amen. Suburbanabstrakt (talk) 17:36, 6 January 2022 (UTC)
- @Suburbanabstrakt: I challenge that this person meets WP:ARTIST. Please seek consensus on talk page. Magnolia677 (talk) 18:11, 6 January 2022 (UTC)
Venice, FL
Hello ! I saw that you reverted my edit for Venice, Florida where I added more detail about the Higel family. They were one of the earliest pioneers to the area. I believe adding more details about their lives and what they did in Venice contributes to that history and helps provide some context for who settled the area. Can you explain why you think it's out of scope for the article? Thanks! Amscheip (talk) 18:58, 7 January 2022 (UTC)
- @Amscheip: Hi, you wrote:
- "In 1892, Frank Higel killed himself during a domestic dispute, but his family remained in Florida. The 1897 Manatee County directory listed only 16 residents in the Venice area, including at least half of Frank's children. Frank Jr. became a school teacher in Venice while Ralph and George remained to work the family's farm. George also became the Venice correspondent for the Sarasota Times, using the pen-name "Nemo" after his father's schooner."
- What's this got to do with an article about a city in Florida? None of these people are notable. How does this fit with WP:USCITIES and WP:BALASP? Magnolia677 (talk) 19:10, 7 January 2022 (UTC)
- @Magnolia677: I understand that by most standards they aren't famous, but they are notable for being early pioneers. And they were notable enough to have their lives recorded by a county government historical report. Most towns are founded by non-notable people. It fits with WP:USCITIES because it is a "Brief note about historical roots/founding." As far as WP:BALASP is concerned, a description of the family is part of describing the town's history. I think you'd be hard pressed to find any local history that doesn't cover the lives of otherwise non-notable people. Would it help if I added even more description to give some weight as to how Higel and his family impacted the town? They bought and developed several dozen acres of land (a lot for a small town like Venice) and Frank helped get a post office established. I am trying to work in good faith here but I also think that removing facts about the area's early history doesn't help anyone. Amscheip (talk) 19:39, 7 January 2022 (UTC)
- @Amscheip: You are welcome to revert. I'll start a discussion on the talk page. Cheers. Magnolia677 (talk) 20:20, 7 January 2022 (UTC)
