Myx has produced some of the most popular VJs in the country which includes [[Lourd de Veyra]], [[Luis Manzano]], [[Geoff Eigenmann]], [[Heart Evangelista]], [[Nikki Gil]], [[Bernard Palanca]], and [[Iya Villania]]. Since 2007, Myx has produced the annual [[Myx VJ Search]] with the aim of searching the country's best VJs. The finalists will be given the chance to be a VJ on Myx. The current VJs of Myx are Ai dela Cruz and Samm Alvero. Myx (/ˈmɪks/) is a Filipino pay TV channel based in Quezon City and Mandaluyong City. It is targeted to youth audiences with music videos as its primary content, a strategy reminiscent of the early days of MTV. It was introduced via Studio 23 (now S+A) in 2000, ABS-CBN's UHF broadcast television network which offered some of its programs during early morning, afternoon and late evening blocks. History
Myx was first aired on November 20, 2000 on ABS-CBN's sister television network, Studio 23 (now S+A). It was intended to be the replacement of MTV Philippines. It aired on Studio 23 during daytime, as a block-timer.
On February 14, 2002, ABS-CBN merged Myx on Channel 23 with then top-rating music cable channel, VID-OK. After the merger, Myx retained its name. However, it carried the format of VID-OK (which plays music videos with lyrics). At first, viewers of both predecessors were cold regarding the said change. However, Myx was able to gain significant audience compared to the channel's main competitors. Since then, Myx became the number one music channel in the Philippines.
On December 1, 2013, ABS-CBN Corporation, Nine Media Corporation and Cheer Chaos Media Corporation will be launched MYX Goes Nationwide on Free Television broadcasting with 14 MYX Regional Channel owned and operated stations and 25 MYX Regional Channel relay and affiliate stations Nationwide. MYX on Free TV will be aired for News and Information called MYX News Channel (formerly Solar News on MYX and MYX Channel News), NBA, WNBA (until 2021) and regional TV programs. Myx is launched for the News and Music channel on cable called MYX News Channel on August 29, 2016 is the hook-up news programs and shows on Myx aired on SkyCable Channel 58 and Sky Direct Channel 69. MYX News Channel was off-air last August 31, 2020 due to COVID-19 pandemic in the Philippines, ABS-CBN Shutdown (due to the Cease and Desist Order issued to NTC) and ABS-CBN Franchise Renewal was denied by the Congress of the Philippines.
On January 16, 2014, Myx stopped airing on Studio 23. This was after the closure of Studio 23 to give way to the new free-to-air sports channel, ABS-CBN Sports and Action (S+A).
In November 2015, the network celebrated its 15th anniversary. The month-long celebration started with "Myx Mo! 2015" at the SM Mall of Asia Concert Grounds on October 31, 2015. The following day, November 1, 2015, Myx re-branded with new shows and a new look with a major graphics overhaul. Myx also invited past and present VJs for the grand "Myx Homecoming" which was aired as a 4-part special. Finally, the network concluded the celebration with the airing of the Myx 15 documentary on November 20, 2015, the launching day of Myx wayback in 2000.
Since July 30, 2018 until its May 5, 2020 shutdown (due to the Cease and Desist Order issued to NTC), Myx became available on ABS-CBN TV Plus at Channel 12 (DTT). It was launched as a free trial channel together with O Shopping, Asianovela Channel, Movie Central and Jeepney TV. Prior to this, there was Myx2, a tested complimentary channel and later on discontinued before TV Plus was officially launched in 2015.
On July 11, 2019, Myx launched a secondary YouTube channel called All Music Myx which features uploads of Myxclusive performances of artists from the Myx archives. On September 8, 2019 Myx was moved on UHF Channel 66 in Metro Manila, Cebu City and Davao City due to lack of personalities of Creative Programs and Nine Media Corporation will simulcast on CNN Philippines (formerly Solar News Channel and 9TV); former MYX channel on UHF Channel 55 for to the preparation of the DTV transition implementation (UHF Channel 55 Manila, Cebu and Davao stations owned by People's Broadcasting Network; this is the former channel of MYX from December 1, 2013 to September 7, 2019).
In June 2021, Myx's digital assets merged with its Global counterpart. Alongside that, the TV channel was also rebranded and has since adopted a new logo, similar to the 2020 Myx Global logo.
In July 2021, As part of the strong partnership between ABS-CBN Entertainment and TV5/Cignal, Cignal added Myx to their channel line-up along with its sister network Cinema One as free trial and later as "add-ons".[1]
On February 3, 2021; according to affiliate MYX TV stations, Cheer Chaos Media Corporation and ABS-CBN Corporation the network announced that MYX will rebrand name called as "Cheers TV" launched on September 13, 2021 on Free TV and cable. Cheers TV programming includes the entertainment shows from Kapamilya Channel, CNN Philippines, A2Z Channel 11 and Cheer Chaos TV Philippines, music and top charts shows together with weekly shows from Myx, news and current affairs shows includes the simulcast hook-up newscast such as Good Morning Cheer Chaos The Best, Cheer Chaos The Best Philippines Network News Nationwide with Debbie Then, Chloe Lee, Amanda Zamora and Edward Barber, Cheers TV Network News, Cheers TV News Tonight, Cheers TV News Alert, Headline Pilipinas (from TeleRadyo), TV Patrol Weekend (from Kapamilya Channel) and CNN Philippines News Night with Pia Hontiveros, CNN Philippines News.PH Kasama si Pia Hontiveros and CNN Philippines The Source with Pinky Webb (from CNN Philippines) and some ABS-CBN Entertainment drama teleserye such as FPJ's Ang Probinsyano, Marry Me, Marry You, La Vida Lena, Viral Scandal, The Broken Marriage Vow, 2 Good 2 Be True, Mars Ravelo's Darna, Love in 40 Days, Bagong Umaga, Kadenang Ginto, Dolce Amore, He's Into Her, On the Wings of Love, Love Thy Woman and Till I Met You also along with movie blocks, dramas, Asianovelas, game shows, religious, block-time programs and sports and competition events (incl. NBA, WNBA and National Social Science and Geography Quizzes Competition). Aside Cheers TV on Free TV, Myx will continue on-air on cable, satellite, iWantTFC and thru our live streaming.
After 8 years from now; MYX Goes Nationwide on Free Television it has ceased its commercial operations on the night of Thursday, September 9, 2021, right after its final program Mellow MYX, a video presentation was shown, Goodbye To You by Michelle Branch as the final song of this music channel on terrestrial broadcasting, the final station notice and the playing of the Philippine national anthem. At the end of it, the station thanked its viewers for the past 8 years on-air. The station officially closed down at around 12:20 AM. On the following day; an unnamed station aired and used the words "Test Broadcast" on the supposed position of the MYX and Cheers TV logo. On September 11-12, 2021 the station was temporarily off-air and the official countdown for the newest channel. On September 13, 2021 at exactly 5:00 AM is the official relaunch called Cheers TV is the 3rd UHF television station of Cheer Chaos Media Corporation and ABS-CBN Corporation and the tagline of this station is called "Cheering Together With YOU!". Cheers TV is programming for news, information, entertainment, music and sports programming for the cheering people viewers.

The majority of the programs of Myx is composed primarily of music-related programming which includes programs with music videos for specific genre, artists, as well as music video charts programs. Myx also shows concerts, events, and live performances. Myx also sponsors several special events for televised purposes as well as programs related to pop culture. VJs and hosts
Myx has produced some of the most popular VJs in the country which includes Lourd de Veyra, Luis Manzano, Geoff Eigenmann, Heart Evangelista, Nikki Gil, Bernard Palanca, and Iya Villania. Since 2007, Myx has produced the annual Myx VJ Search with the aim of searching the country's best VJs. The finalists will be given the chance to be a VJ on Myx. The current VJs of Myx are Ai dela Cruz and Samm Alvero. They will be the only VJs for now as other VJs lose their jobs due to the retrenchment of employees in ABS-CBN after the Philippine congress junked the new ABS-CBN legislative franchise to operate on July 10, 2020.[7]
Abroad
In 2007, Myx TV (originally launched simply as Myx) was launched in United States. The American counterpart of Myx was originally intended to cater the Asian-American youth community in United States with music video as its primary content. It was later reformatted to become a general entertainment channel targeted to the Asian-American diaspora. Myx TV is operated independently from its Filipino counterpart with some of its programming produced in the United States by ABS-CBN International and by other third-party production companies. Myx TV is exclusively available in United States on over ten million households through a wide array of platforms such as cable, satellite, IPTV, online streaming, VOD and other over-the-top content platforms such as Roku, Samsung Smart TV, Samsung Blu-ray, Sony Bravia, Sony Blu-ray, and Opera Software.
Myx on other platforms
- Myx magazine - was a bi-monthly magazine that complements the music channel.
- Myx compilations - was a series of music compilations released by PolyEast Records.
- Myx Mo! - was a yearly concert event launched in 2002. Today, Myx Mo! is now considered as the longest continuous annual music festival in the Philippines. The last Myx Mo was on the year 2015.
- Myx Charts - was a mobile app available in android and iOS devices.
- Myx 2 - was a digital sub-channel of ABS-CBN DTT. It was later discontinued before ABS-CBN TV Plus was launched in 2015.
- Social media - Myx's official social media accounts on Twitter and Facebook are among the biggest in the country, with over six million likes on Facebook and over five million followers on Twitter.
- All Music Myx - a secondary YouTube channel launched on July 2019. It brings curated performances of your favorite artists from the Myx archives regardless of what genre of music you're into.
