WikiProject Deaf
Does this project encompass all aspects of deafness, such as cochlear implants and the oralism approach to education? Or is it solely Deaf culture-focused? —Erik (talk • contrib) - 18:17, 2 February 2007 (UTC)
Why did you revert [1] my removal of copyright-violating text on Mark Speight? The source site [2] says clearly at the bottom "Copyright ©2007 CNET Networks, Inc. All Rights Reserved" so even if anyone can edit the biography there, their submissions are copyrighted by CNET. Which means we cannot have the same text on Wikipedia. I have removed the copyvio again. Please do not revert - if you plan on re-writing the article you can of course do so, and the copyvio is still in the page history if you want to refer to it. Flyingtoaster1337 00:35, 5 February 2007 (UTC)
RE: Vidiian Sodailty image
I've been re-watching the Vidiian series of episodes recently and I just can't remember seeing it, I'll have a look my self again. However, imo I do think we should avoid fan created images, but it doesn't highly bother me if it is used, just a thought. thanks/Fenton, Matthew Lexic Dark 52278 Alpha 771 15:31, 4 February 2007 (UTC)
- That's another problem because it actually wouldn't, we'd still have to claim fair use as it would be a "derivative work" so we wouldn't be able to license one under the GFDL/CreativeCommons/etc thanks/Fenton, Matthew Lexic Dark 52278 Alpha 771 15:38, 4 February 2007 (UTC)
- Oh right, I'm not that knowledgable about the fair use laws.--NeilEvans 15:40, 4 February 2007 (UTC)
Orphaned fair use image (Image:He-Man.JPG)
Thanks for uploading Image:He-Man.JPG. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. ~ BigrTex 19:10, 6 February 2007 (UTC)
Other images tagged for the same reason:
~ BigrTex 19:48, 6 February 2007 (UTC)
- My understanding is that the procedure should be to go ahead and create the parts of the article in the next 5 days before the images are deleted for being orphaned, or wait until the article is ready before uploading the images. I'm willing to leave them untagged for now, but until they are used in an article, someone else may find and tag them.
- I encourage you to go ahead and add the sections to the article and/or save off the pictures. It has been more than two months since you originally uploaded them. ~ BigrTex 20:04, 6 February 2007 (UTC)

Fair Use images on User page (Gallery)
I have removed the images from User:NeilEvans/Gallery/Miscellaneous. Wikipedia policy is that Fair Use images cannot be used except to illustrate the subject of the image, this includes being used in a gallery in your user space. ~ BigrTex 19:34, 6 February 2007 (UTC)
