I'm curious as to why you labeled this article a "stub." What more could one possibly say about it? [[User:SFTVLGUY2|SFTVLGUY2]] 22:16, 9 February 2007 (UTC)

I added the hangon tag to the RIAA whores entry and a short reasoning on the talk page. Please respond and don't delete. — Preceding unsigned comment added by S.chock (talkcontribs) 19:59, February 9, 2007 (UTC)

Update: I saw that you added the {{hangon}} tag. That's fine. However, when you add that tag, you replaced it over the original CSD template. Both should stay on the page when speedy deletion is contested, hence why I added it back. All the same, an admin has to review before deleting anyway, so it makes no difference in whether or not the article will be deleted. thadius856talk|airports|neutrality 20:06, 9 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

How do I put the hangon tag on a page that's already been deleted? I don't see how to do that. Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kitode (talkcontribs) 06:18, February 6, 2007 (UTC)

Update: You can't. It's gone. I'd just look it up in your contributions, but once an article is deleted, all contributions to it disappear as well. We can't view the deleted page either, as that's an admin-only action. thadius856talk|airports|neutrality 06:22, 6 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

That is rather irritating. So what you're saying is that a first-time poster who puts something up and says it's a stub at dinnertime has to respond to a quick-delete within the hour? Great. Glad I didn't put any more time into it.

I guess I'm confused - was this all done by bot and there was no person involved at all?

Update: Well, I can tell you that I tagged it with Criteria for Speedy Deletion A7 and that it was deleted for notability reasons. That much is obvious from the message I left on your talk page. Either the subject of the article did not meet Wikipedia's policy on notability or you did not establish notability of the subject in the article. I'm apologize, but it's just not possible to memorize each and every article that gets deleted for notability, as there's just far too many. thadius856talk|airports|neutrality 15:59, 6 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

note on proding

i did not know if it could be speedy delation thanks for telling me that thanksOo7565 17:32, 6 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Update: No problem. Keep up the good work. thadius856talk|airports|neutrality 20:02, 9 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

your tagging bot

Tagged Gay icon as being a biography project article. It clearly does not fall under the scope of the biography project, so I have removed the tag. Jeffpw 06:24, 8 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Update: Thank you for removing it, as well as responding here and not on my bot's talk page. :) thadius856talk|airports|neutrality 20:02, 9 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Oliver Shipp

why did you mark this for speedy deletion, how do know that it is not notable? it could be and you just dont know it. it also took me quite some time to figure out to make everything the way it is, with this deletion business going on, i might be very disenclined to ever use wikipedia again, i have been a avid user of wikipedia for 2 years (not a registered but i use to look up info) i dont think its quite fair to delete my work if you have no relative idea of what my work is about, the wiki isnt even done yet just getting started

Update: The Criteria for Speedy Deletion A7 states that it is an article about a person, group of people, band, club, company or website that does not assert the importance or significance of the subject. Whether the subject is notable is not the question here, as that determination is made by Wikipedia's policy on notability for individuals, but rather that the article did not assert this notability, if any. thadius856talk|airports|neutrality 20:25, 9 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

RE: The Morionor page

Apparently whoever added them to the list of example bands for the Melodic Black Metal article months ago felt that they were "notable". I happen to live in the Atlanta area and I can attest that this band has a considerable underground following. What or whom deems something to be "notable"? This seems to be entirely a matter of personal opinion on behalf of the person (you) doing the deleting? If I find a polka band with a small article that I have zero interest in does that permit me to delete the article becuase it is not of interest to me? True the article is not very developed, I am not very skilled in the ways of Wikipedia yet so I was hoping if I just set up the basics someone with the know-how might come along later and fill out the missing parts, specifically the bar that goes along the right. If you intent to delete this article could you at least warn me before hand, I spent about half an hour collecting the information and figuring out how to format it so I would be annoyed if it all disappeared so quickly. Please don't get the impression I'm giving you a hard time, I'm just confused as to why one obscure band is notable while another which is just as obscure is not. Update: A few things you need to understand:
  • What or whom deems something to be "notable"?
  • This seems to be entirely a matter of personal opinion on behalf of the person (you) doing the deleting?
  • I am not deleting anything. I am tagging the article for deletion, which an administrator must then review.
  • If you intent to delete this article could you at least warn me before hand...

If you read closely the CSD tempalte it says that "...does not assert the notability of the subject". This does not mean that the subject is not notable, but rather that the creator did not tell what makes the subject notable as it pertains, in this case, to WP:MUSIC. If the band is truly notable, then you should have no problems meeting the criteria in that policy. thadius856talk|airports|neutrality 08:04, 9 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Burning Rain

I just went through this with these Burning Rain (Burning Rain (album) and Pleasure to Burn (album)) articles. The guitarist is a member of Whitesnake, which makes him and any other band he's in notable. As a matter of fact, I tagged Burning Rain earlier and it was deleted, so I need to talk to Eagle101 and get that restored. It's kind of funny how we'd make the same mistake, huh? Wodup 07:58, 9 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Update: I'm not sure what we both went through, but I assume you'd referring to the comment directly above this. The simple fact is that if he had asserted notability of the subject, I wouldn't have questioned it for a second. Hope I'm not totally off. :) thadius856talk|airports|neutrality 08:06, 9 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Tri-Fest

I've added some referencing and links on the Tri-Fest article you flagged as non-notable. If you find that these have established the event's notability, please remove the notability flag. Thanks! Acdixon 14:39, 9 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Update: Great work! That definitively established the notability of the subject. I removed the template earlier this morning. Keep up the good work! thadius856talk|airports|neutrality 20:26, 9 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
