So that's me thus far, in a nutshell. When looking at the [[Wikipedia:Task Center|Task Center]] I realize that I haven't even scratched the surface. However, I'm still mostly interested in recent changes patrolling, and want to stay focused on this for a decent period of time. Maybe I will only be doing this type of maintenance work on Wikipedia. I don't have any ideas for new articles, but I enjoy editing a lot. I want to feel confident that my edits benefit the project, so I can contribute more systematically. Of all the currently available adopters you seem like the one who is probably the most focused on recent changes patrolling and anti-vandalism efforts, which is why I decided to message you. I really hope that you will take me on. Sincerely, [[User talk:Twsabin|twsabin]] 22:50, 4 February 2022 (UTC) |

CSD tagging
Hello, Passengerpigeon,
Please do not tag new pages (like Being Human (Music Producer)) right after they have been created. The editor might be working on improving them and it's hard for articles to meet Wikipedia standards 5 or 10 minutes after they have been created. If the editor is working on the article, please give them more time before tagging a page to be deleted. And if you could help them improve the article, even better! Thanks. Liz Read! Talk! 04:27, 6 January 2021 (UTC)
- Dear @Liz:, thanks for reaching out to me; I already follow that principle with A1 and A3 deletions, but in this case, nothing the page creator could have done in terms of finding sources etc. would have prevented deletion, because it was clear that the subject simply wasn't notable enough. Thank you, Passengerpigeon (talk) 04:31, 6 January 2021 (UTC)
Concern regarding Draft:Melbourne Tramcar Preservation Association
Hello, Passengerpigeon. This is a bot-delivered message letting you know that Draft:Melbourne Tramcar Preservation Association, a page you created, has not been edited in at least 5 months. Draft space is not an indefinite storage location for content that is not appropriate for article space.
If your submission is not edited soon, it could be nominated for deletion under CSD G13. If you would like to attempt to save it, you will need to improve it. You may request userfication of the content if it meets requirements.
If the deletion has already occured, instructions on how you may be able to retrieve it are available here.
Thank you for your submission to Wikipedia. FireflyBot (talk) 04:03, 22 March 2021 (UTC)
Adopt me
I want to be adopted. I've been editing for a month but I keep making mistakes. I only edit outer space related articles. There is a discussion about me at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents - Wikipedia. When you respond, please {{mention}} me. New Page Patrol newsletter September 2021
Hello Passengerpigeon,
Please join this discussion - there is increase in the abuse of Wikipedia and its processes by POV pushers, Paid Editors, and by holders of various user rights including Autopatrolled. Even our review systems themselves at AfC and NPR have been infiltrated. The good news is that detection is improving, but the downside is that it creates the need for a huge clean up - which of course adds to backlogs.
Copyright violations are also a serious issue. Most non-regular contributors do not understand why, and most of our Reviewers are not experts on copyright law - and can't be expected to be, but there is excellent, easy-to-follow advice on COPYVIO detection here.
At the time of the last newsletter (#25, December 2020) the backlog was only just over 2,000 articles. New Page Review is an official system. It's the only firewall against the inclusion of new, improper pages.
There are currently 706 New Page Reviewers plus a further 1,080 admins, but as much as nearly 90% of the patrolling is still being done by around only the 20 or so most regular patrollers.
If you are no longer very active on Wikipedia or you no longer wish to be part of the New Page Reviewer user group, please consider asking any admin to remove you from the list. This will enable NPP to have a better overview of its performance and what improvements need to be made to the process or its software.
Various awards are due to be allocated by the end of the year and barnstars are overdue. If you would like to manage this, please let us know. Indeed, if you are interested in coordinating NPR, it does not involve much time and the tasks are described here.

Important notice
This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.
You have shown interest in India, Pakistan, and Afghanistan. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.
For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.

Instead of edit warring there, just look at the talk page and it would be easy for you to realize that we got a WP:1AM unwilling to leave WP:DEADHORSE. Azuredivay (talk) 10:35, 25 September 2021 (UTC)
- Hi Azuredivay, I am not entirely sure what you mean by this. Are you saying that there is one stubborn editor removing this content repeatedly? Also, I wasn't trying to edit-war; I just made that edit because I was reading the article and noticed that the section I saw a previous time I read it had been removed. Thank you, Passengerpigeon (talk) 13:00, 25 September 2021 (UTC)
- Single user who is repeatedly adding poorly written synthesis even after being described by multiple users about the problems with his content. That's all. Azuredivay (talk) 13:51, 25 September 2021 (UTC)
- Azuredivay Please post your concerns on the talk page where I've been engaged over multiple months. There has been no reply on my last comment for more than a month. Instead of voicing your concerns there, you chose to revert my edit without any discussion.coolk (talk) 19:05, 25 September 2021 (UTC)

Maximilian Dood
Hey, thank you so much for turning my Maximilian Dood draft into an actual article! I was going to submit it via AfC, but I appreciate you saving me the time (and anxiety) of waiting for someone to review it! PantheonRadiance (talk) 05:41, 13 November 2021 (UTC)
- No problem; I sometimes move drafts straight into article space without waiting for the submission template if I can see that they're already good enough to be articles. Also, your account is now autoconfirmed, which means you can create articles directly without using draftspace first. Thank you, Passengerpigeon (talk) 13:59, 13 November 2021 (UTC)

Please mentor me
Hello. I have recently gotten a topic ban and would like someone to mentor me. Would you please do that? 🐔 Chicdat Bawk to me! 11:15, 18 November 2021 (UTC)
- Sure. I have created a page at User:Chicdat/Adoption school. Let me know when you have finished some of the questions and I will mark them. Passengerpigeon (talk) 13:28, 18 November 2021 (UTC)
- I've finished the "Cleanup" section. 🐔 Chicdat Bawk to me! 12:40, 19 November 2021 (UTC)
- @Chicdat: I realise now that the adoption quiz may be a bit beginnerish considering you have been here a while and that you might have been seeking a different form of mentoring; what did you have in mind? Of course, you're welcome to continue the quiz if you want. Passengerpigeon (talk) 15:37, 19 November 2021 (UTC)
- Correct; I've already been in one mentorship program, so I've done reliable sources, but just when I was about to take the "Administrative involvement" section, my mentor retired. Perhaps I could skip to Deletion? 🐔 Chicdat Bawk to me! 11:18, 20 November 2021 (UTC)
- @Chicdat: Good idea. Passengerpigeon (talk) 21:30, 20 November 2021 (UTC)

I've done all but one of the CSD problems (I have no idea on one of them). 🐔 Chicdat Bawk to me! 12:49, 21 November 2021 (UTC)
- @Chicdat: I will mark them now. Please link the pages you cleaned up in the Cleanup section. Thanks for persevering, Passengerpigeon (talk) 13:24, 21 November 2021 (UTC) Edit: Oh, never mind, turns out you already did - I created the page User:Chicdat/Adoption school but you used User:Chicdat/Adoption School instead.
- I was just following the Your First Task instructions. 🐔 Chicdat Bawk to me! 13:31, 21 November 2021 (UTC)
- @Chicdat: I have marked the Deletion section. Please retry questions 2, 3 and 4. Passengerpigeon (talk) 14:39, 21 November 2021 (UTC)
- Retried, and I got them right the 2nd time. 🐔 Chicdat Bawk to me! 12:05, 23 November 2021 (UTC)

I get the impression the block and everything sort of ended the adoption, which is all right. I learned a bit about CSD, thank you. 🐔dat (talk) 11:49, 19 December 2021 (UTC)

Adoption request
Hi Passengerpigeon! Would you like to adopt me? I started editing in late January. Since joining I have done recent changes patrolling. In doing so, I would notice issues with certain articles and I would stick around to see if I can help a bit more; examples:
- Nicolas Schöffer – investigated the cause for a problematic addition (revision) by a good-faith editor (link), and nominated the page that turned out to be the cause of the problem for deletion (MfD discussion, ongoing);
- Nawab Mir Khudrath Nawaz Jung Bahadur – helped remove original research, put up cleanup templates, and did some work on this questionable article;
- Holly Williams (Australian journalist) – tried to mitigate the effects of an editor insisting on various poor changes. At a certain point, I reported them for edit warring (link) which led to the article being protected;
- Draft:Laura Lott - tried to mitigate the effects of a paid editor giving the draft a promotional character, when I feel that it could be a normal draft/article on a notable topic (but maybe I'm wrong!);
Most of my edits in mainspace have been reverts of vandalism. I have nominated around ten pages for speedy deletion. In one such instance, I made a mistake (link)
So that's me thus far, in a nutshell. When looking at the Task Center I realize that I haven't even scratched the surface.
