Thanks @Lord A.Nelson: for transferring the content over to a new article. This is the longest and most sustained of the COVID-19 protests in NZ. Previous protests did not involve protesters setting up camp and occupying public spaces. Have added a copy tag to the top of the article. Please remember to do that in the future. Title

The protest is often written as "Convoy 2022 NZ", however, I have written "NZ" out in full for clarity (NZ → New Zealand). If it should be abbrviated, then feel free to move the page to a new title. --Lord A.Nelson (talk) 11:22, 12 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Title move

"Convoy 2022 New Zealand" is what the protestors want it to be known as. But it is a decentralised event with a wide range of participants with a range of viewpoints- not all of them subscribe to the Canadian "convoy" idea. We should rename it to "2022 Wellington Anti-Mandate and Anti-Vaccine protest"--222.153.41.232 (talk) 01:11, 17 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

A title change might not be a bad idea as Convoy 2022 New Zealand isn't really descriptive. Could just go for Wellington anti-vaccine mandate protest or New Zealand anti-vaccine mandate protest if we want it to cover the minor ones in other parts of NZ. I don't think it should be changed. The name came from the convoy that started back on 6 February, and this is a continuation of that nation-wide convoy. Very similar to the Canada convoy protest, which that title is fine. --Lord A.Nelson (talk) 23:55, 17 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Convoy 2022 protest Wellinton

This is absolutely inflammatory. There has been no violence here except on the part of the police lion Thursday 10 Feb after which they have stood down and many are supporting us.

No I’m has spat at or abused school children. In fa t if you actually came down here and looked for yourself you’ll see how many high school kids are popping in after school to decide for themselves. No I’m with a mask has been abused. Many here wearing masks. It’s their choice. Which is what this protest is all about. Freedom of choice over our lives and an end to the cruel mandates that are seeing livelihoods lost, division amongst our people, vaccine injured ignored, lies constantly told by parliament and the MSM of which you are obviously one.

The protest is peaceful and loving, so many families. We are asking for our right to be free to be returned. To be rid of these mandates when almost every other country have abandoned theirs except for the hardliners. We are the most highly vaccinated country yet we know the vaxx is not safe and not effective. Almost 100% of people here with Omicron are vaccinated. Get off MSM and do some research. I’m happy to help.

We are the least infected country but the most oppressed. I take issue with a lot of what you have reported which is just wrong.

And by the way, the reason the police have not been able to get the cars towed is because the Towies support us.

We are not blocking major routes there are plenty it side streets able people are able to bypass through. The protest is well managed with recycling snd rubbish collected throw out the day and taken away. The food is free and amazing. There are teachers homeschooling the kids. A crèche. Donation tents with tents, clothing, marquees, toiletries - anything anyone could need. A laundry! Meditation and yoga snd massage tents. A women and children test tent. A medic tent, health tents, ACC reps, midwives, nurses, paramedic, legal advice. It’s a town for all oppose the mandates, vaxxed or unvaxxed, masked or unmasked. There is discrimination here just freedom and choice.
