Gustav Magnar Witzøe (born February 8, 1993 in Frøya) is a Norwegian billionaire and significant shareholder of salmon fish farming company Salmar ASA.[1] He is one of the youngest billionaires in the world.[2][3]
Early life
Witzøe was born in Frøya, Trøndelag, to parents Gustav and Oddny Witzøe. His father founded SalMar, which is one of the world's largest producers of farmed salmon. SalMar also owns a significant stake in Scottish Sea Farms, the UK's second-largest salmon farmer.[2]
When he was 19 Witzøe served 2 weeks in prison after being arrested for driving 180 kph in a 60 kph zone and to allegedly avoid a large inheritance tax bill but soon enough paid off the guards.[4] Witzøe is involved with the family business and worked as a milker at SalMar's fish farms in Frøya.[2] As of 2021, his net worth was $4.3 billion.
Witzøe is also a technology startup and property investor. He previously worked for MGM Property,[2] and has invested in both Gopi and Keybutler.[1][3]
