Peer Review: Ben Chance 1. Neutral content: I do not see any words or phrases that could be considered as bias so it is looking good.

2. Reliable sources: The source you are using in this draft looks reliable and is from a journal. It looks like you used this article for the Balkhash perch, but I am not sure what articles you used to find information about the European and yellow perch. Making that clear by citing these articles as well would make your edits even more reliable.

3. Clear structure: Is this draft well organized? Can you follow it easily? Yes, the draft is well organized. It is clear that you are focusing on the various species of perch, mainly focusing on European, Balkhash, and yellow perch species. It is easy to follow as the information on these species is organized into bullet points.

What pages will be edited? You proposed to edit the Perch page and potentially the European perch page explained in the top & bottom of your edits.

Who will do the editing/adding of what topics/ pages? Clear from the sandbox which proposed edits are Heather's vs which proposed edits are Odonnus'.

Does there seem to be an even distribution of contribution from all team members? Yes, glancing over Odunnus' proposed edits, there seems to be an equal contribution from both of you.

What sorts of contributions with regard to images are planned? You do not mention any plans to insert an image in your edits. Maybe you could potentially take a picture of your perch in lab to try and capture one of the characteristics/colors that you explained in your edits.

Do you see where this content might fit from the information provided? Meaning...can you see what part of an article and what page this will go in? Yes, you clearly state that you plan to focus on editing the species section of the perch article.

4. Integration: Does anything link up with something you or your team is working on? How can you help each other? I do not think that there is anything linking our group's edits together.

Do they link to other relevant pages in the text of their draft? Yes, you do a great job linking to other wiki articles.

5. General Edits This introduction was successful and the population of Balkhash perch in the Balkhash Lake is rarer now. This sentence seems contradictory, maybe replace the "and" with a "however"

Odonnus, Your draft clearly states your plan of action and changes you’ll be making for the wiki page in an organized fashion. I really like that you make each section distinct and go into depth for each one. The content feels neutral and the citations come from credible sources, all which have their own link to the references section, and you also make good use of other pages within your draft. I think it would definitely be beneficial to add this to the wiki page. JustinDelC (talk) 05:35, 2 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

General Notes: Overall, your sandbox was very well organized, easy to navigate and understand, with a great start to your list of resources! Citations were done correctly and you seem to have an awesome set of potential edits to be made. My only real suggestion is maybe splitting the external anatomy into 3 smaller subsections within the Perch page.

Edit Proposal 1

• You honestly went above and beyond with the amount of information you've included on perch anatomy. Just a repetition of what I said above, I would suggest however, to potentially split each of the body parts into it's own subsection on the Perch page, which would really help to bulk up the "anatomy" section.

• I think it would be awesome if you included some photos of perch anatomy taken from your dissection to compare / contrast to the photo you linked at the top (loved that it was fully labeled).

• Could also include photos or diagrams of body structure, scales, or fins (my personal favorites are the up close photos of scales and fins).

Edit Proposal 2

• Potentially adding a short summary of internal anatomy before delving into details of innards? Are internal structures similar to other fish or animals? Are the organs the same or do they function in the same way?

• Most people I don't think know what a swim bladder is, or how it works. Link to the relevant page is great start, but maybe include a photo or diagram of the tissue? Where is it in the body?

• Sexual dimorphism? Do males and females look phenotypically different, both internally and externally? Icedburg824 (talk) 09:20 pm, 4 April 2022 (UTC)

Peer Review – Odonnus

External Anatomy 1. If there are any, maybe add some external differences between males and females

Internal Anatomy 1. When you introduce the small intestine you say “consists of the duodenum”, does it only have the duodenum, or does it also include the Jejunum and Ileum like in humans? 2. It’s okay right now because you did do a lot, but if you plan on adding more to your Internal Anatomy portion, I would further section it out into “Digestive system, Circulatory system, Reproductive system, etc.”

Overall: I just wanted to say you did very well, especially looking at the original section and how little you had to work with. Your draft is very smooth and clear on what you want to add. You pretty much made the entire section on Perch anatomy in this article and the image you intend to add is perfect.--Everyday I'm Buffering (talk) 18:10, 6 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Neutral Content: Your edits look good so far! Content-wise I think you tackled writing in a neutral tone very well. Your additions flow perfectly with what is already written in the article previously.

Clear Structure: The structure of your proposed edits is very clear, and I can follow along easily. I think the image you want to include in the edit is good to add to the article.

Reliable Sources: I see there is one source you cited in your edits, but are there other sources you are looking into? On the original page, I couldn’t find a source for the section you are editing. Is all this information coming from one source or a combination of multiple sources?

Other comments: Since there are nine species of Perch, do you plan to include all nine in that section? CJManalo25 (talk) 15:53, 8 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
