The song was described as an "'80s inspired dance-pop track" reflecting on a relationship Max "couldn’t be happier to be out of".[2] It was also seen as a "raucous kiss off to a self-centred lover".[4][5]
Critical reception
Mix1 rated the song 7 out of 8, saying the single marks the 2022 return of Max with an attitude that is "extremely confident" but contains a very "sobering" message.[6]
