[3] Her direction of Summer & Smoke first brought her critical acclaim and showcased her ability to re-invent old works in new ways. [4]

In 2021 it was widely reported that Frecknall would be collaborating with Florence Welch to create a musical version of The Great Gatsby. [5][6][7] In 2022 she will be putting on Mary Stuart at the Schauspiel in Stuttgart, her first show in a non-English-speaking country. [8]
