::::: You've explained your opinion on the matter but it seems as though more users are in favour of including the Results and Fixtures on the main article, it would add 15,000 bytes which would balloon the size significantly (comparing it to other national team articles) and accessibility has been addressed in the construction of the format of the Results and Fixtures. Unless there are other users that feel similarly, the [[WP: Consensus]], not only in this conversation but also amongst all other national team articles, would be to include the Results and Fixtures for the preceding year and matches that have been scheduled to take place. Question

I was looking at Peru national football team and I noticed there is another article just for Most capped and top goalscorers which usually in other articles included at the original article not separated like this. So should we move it to the Peru national football team's article ?also another article for the result since 2005 only.. any suggestions about this one also? thanks Adnan (talk) 23:15, 21 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Most sports articles of this type have a separate article for team records (you can see the entire category here: [1]). This information is already included in the article for the top 3 scorers and appearances (in the records & statistics section); the tables were seen as unnecessary additions. The results article is incomplete and needs further work. Regards.--MarshalN20 Talk 02:46, 22 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@MarshalN20: ok no problem thank you :) Adnan (talk) 00:01, 28 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Infobox image

Why do all national team articles have as first image a badge? I think it should be of a squad, either current or from a golden era. The badge is a good image for the association, and indeed for Peruvian Football Federation it is the same image. The same problem exists for Scotland national football team, and since these 2 are FAs, all the other team pages are copying. But surely the reader expects to see players wearing the typical kit. So in the case of Peru I recommend we move the 1970 team image from the Colours section up to the top. Has this ever been discussed? Edwininlondon (talk) 07:56, 4 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Edwin. All team (club and national) articles use the team badge as the first image. There does exist a Manual of Style for association football articles. Articles for the most part follow a guideline. The appropriate place to discuss changes to the style of articles is at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Football.--MarshalN20 Talk 14:50, 4 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Paolo Guerrero Goal Record

The goal he scored against Senegal's B team is apparently not considered official. Therefore, his goal record is second to Cubillas for the time being.--MarshalN20 Talk 04:41, 12 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Current squad

Absolutely no need exists to have the terms "current squad" and "recent call-ups" as sub-section titles in the football team articles. It should be entirely optional for articles to have them or not. The single-purpose account L1ghty insists on reverting the Players' sub-section title from "current" to "current squad". The name could also be changed to "current team" or "current line-up". Again, these are all optional titles. They are not needed because it is already understood that the "current" title indicates players that are in the current iteration of the football team. The user in question has contributed nothing to this article, and instead only seeks to aggravate matters by attempting to engage in a revert war. @L1ghty: please desist from disruptive editing.--MarshalN20 🕊 16:28, 6 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Bolivarian Games

According to the records from the RSSSF, Peru only fielded an official senior team at the 1938 competition. The source states: "This was the first and only time that full National Teams for every country took part in this tournament" ([2]). In the following edition, "Only Bolivia and Venezuela fielded their full National Teams." There is no indication that this changed in subsequent editions, until finally it became (officially) a U-17 football tournament.--MarshalN20 🕊 11:15, 3 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Panamerican Championship

I notice on the Brazil, Argentina, and Chile national football team articles, there is a mention of achievements at the Panamerican Championship, a now-defunct tournament which attempted to create an "Americas-wide championship". Peru finished fourth at the 1952 and 1956 editions. My question is, should it be mentioned in the article or added into the infobox template? 73.248.55.60 (talk) 17:37, 16 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

That's a good point. I think it should be added into the infobox template. A subsection could, and probably should, also be created in the "Competitive Records" section as this was an official tournament by a major sports body.--MarshalN20 🕊 22:56, 16 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Results

Where are the recent results?? 2A03:C5C0:107D:4784:0:0:1A69:218F (talk) 06:46, 25 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Why are the results not displayed on the main page as per all other nation team articles? Felixsv7 (talk) 11:31, 25 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
A specific article exists for results. See Peru national football team results (2020–present). There is no need to repeat the information from that article in this one.--MarshalN20 🕊 07:58, 26 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
As someone who casually looks at pages like this. Having the previous year of matches on this page is common place on Wikipedia. There is a use of repeating it, its some of the most valuable information on the page. It makes no sense that only Peru doesn't have this information. Lacking this information makes this page significantly worse. Graveyjones5 (talk) 09:30, 28 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
This is not a news article about the Peru national football team. You are always welcome to use a search engine to read about any recent games played by Peru. As a featured article, this page sets standards. It doesn't follow what the other pages do, especially if they are not on the same level of quality as judged by peer review from expert Wikipedians.--MarshalN20 🕊 05:31, 1 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
You can use whatever justification you want. I don't really mind how you decide to display this page. I'm just saying as a user of this article, it is annoying to use. It is worse than other football team articles (Because so much information is hidden away). That's just my opinion as a user of your article. Getting snappy at users who disagree with you editorial decisions is weird dude. Graveyjones5 (talk) 13:31, 5 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I'm explaining why the list is not included in this article. Your evaluation of my response being "snappy" is reflecting more your negative attitude at the answer. Have a good day.--MarshalN20 🕊 20:30, 5 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
All other national pages list the recent results and upcoming fixtures and it is consistent with Wikipedia:WikiProject Football/National teams. Where was it decided that fixtures wouldn't be included on this page? Felixsv7 (talk) 14:50, 5 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
During the Featured Article Review process, the list of fixtures was removed as there was no standard as to what should be displayed. Users generally only wanted to see results when the team was performing favorably, whereas they removed it when the team was performing unfavorably. Users would also edit war over the date ranges, attempting to display as many favorable results as possible. All of these inconsistencies and disputes are what prompted its removal during the review process. A separate list-article has been created for those records.--MarshalN20 🕊 20:32, 5 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Also, it's worthy highlighting that the above template is specifically presented as a proposal. It is not a norm. We encourage using that format for basic articles. Once they become more professional encyclopedic entries, the format can be adjusted based on the peer review.--MarshalN20 🕊 20:35, 5 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
But it does provide a standard for the date ranges to be displayed which was highlighted as the original issue. There is no dispute or inconsistency therefore it should be fine to reinstate. Felixsv7 (talk) 08:26, 6 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
There are other reasons as well. Off the top of my head I remember also accessibility and page size being an issue. Now that there are separate list articles, adding that here would make a content fork. Anyways, thanks for the concern. I have already explained here why the table is and should not be added into this article. Have a great day.--MarshalN20 🕊 14:14, 7 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
