TNX (Template:Lang-ko, pronounced as T-N-X, short for The New Six) is a South Korean boy band formed through the reality survival program Loud by P Nation. The group consists of six members : Kyungjun, Taehun, Hyunsoo, Junhyeok, Hwi, and Sungjun. The group debuted on May 17, 2022, with the release of their debut EP Way Up.
Name
The name, TNX stands for "The New Six," referring to the six members in the group's debut lineup.[1]
History
2021: Formation through Loud
TNX was formed through the SBS reality survival show Loud, is a 2021 South Korean boy group survival reality show organised by JYP Entertainment and P Nation. It was a collaboration between Psy and J.Y. Park to form 2 boy groups: one under JYP Entertainment and another one under P Nation.[2] The program involved 75 contestants from different countries with artistic talents competing for a spot in one of the 2 groups. The program premiered on June 5, 2021, and was broadcast every Saturday at 9 PM KST on SBS.[3] The group originally consisted of seven members at the time of the finale; however, on January 24, 2022, Koki Tanaka left the group due to concerns over his age, resulting in a six-member group. Despite his departure from the group, he remained as a trainee under P Nation.[4]
2022–present: Debut with Way Up
On March 29, 2022, it was announced the group would be officially called TNX (The New Six), and they made their official debut on May 17.[5] On April 25, it was announced that the group would debut with the release of their debut EP Way Up.[6]
