Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 (transl. Labyrinth 2) is a 2022 Indian Hindi-language horror comedy film directed by Anees Bazmee and written by Aakash Kaushik. It was produced by Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar under the banner T-Series and Murad Khetani under the banner Cine1 Studios.[3] A spiritual successor to Bhool Bhulaiyaa (2007) starring Akshay Kumar,[4] the film stars Kartik Aaryan, Tabu, Kiara Advani and Rajpal Yadav.[5] Set 15 years after the sequel, it centers on Ruhan, a fraud psychic, who is brought in to deal with the mystery of Manjulika and her revival in the Thakur palace, but he unintentionally aggravates problems.
Principal photography began in October 2019 and filming was completed in February 2022. Primarily filmed in a real mansion in Lucknow, other shooting locations included Mumbai and Manali. Aaryan lost his voice momentarily while performing for the climax sequence of the film. Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2's soundtrack was composed by Pritam and Tanishk Bagchi, with lyrics written by Amitabh Bhattacharya, Sameer, Yo Yo Honey Singh and Mandy Gill. It features a remix single of the 2007 film's title track by Neeraj Shridhar.
Initially set for release on 31 July 2020, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 was delayed owing to the COVID-19 pandemic. It was theatrically released on 20 May 2022.[1]
Synopsis
An accidental, yet destined meet up between two strangers Ruhaan and Reet, ends up with them visiting Reet's home town in Rajasthan. Fate leads them to opening up an old secret due to which all hell breaks loose leading to one lie, leading to a whole pile of lies sends Ruhaan and Reet on a scary rollercoaster ride and their tragedy keeps becoming our comedy.

Production
The filming began on 9 October 2019[8] and wrapped up on 25 February 2022.[9] Aaryan lost his voice while filming the climax sequence of the film.[10] It was filmed in a real mansion.[11] Filming was occurring in Lucknow, before the pandemic disrupted schedule.[12] It was shot in Mumbai and Manali.[13][14][15]

Bollywood Hungama rated the film 4.5 out of 5 stars and wrote "Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 is a complete entertainer and works due to the splendid combo of horror and comedy".[17] Saheli Maity from Bollywood Bubble rated the film 4 stars out of 5 stars and wrote "Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 is thrilling and thoroughly entertaining. Kartik Aaryan's fatafati performance and Tabu’s sheer par excellence work will surely make Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 a blockbuster."[18] Pallabi Dey Purkayastha of The Times Of India rated the film 3.5 out of 5 stars and wrote "Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 is an agglomeration of grief and the grieving".[19] Rohit Vats of DNA India rated the film 3.5 out of 5 stars and wrote "Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 is an out and out entertainer and next in the line of typical Bollywood ‘masala’ films".[20] Avinash Lohana of Pinkvilla rated the film 3 out of 5 stars and wrote "Kartik, Kiara and Tabu live up to their parts.The film has a mass appeal and the potential to bring the audience back into the theatres".[21] Tushar Joshi of India Today rated the film 3 out of 5 stars and wrote "Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 has all the masala and makings to satiate the taste buds. It’s funny in places, tries to be scary most of the time, but like its title, its efforts get somewhere lost in a maze".[22] Bharathi Pradhan of Lehren rated the film 3 out of 5 stars and wrote "Tabu proves once again that she’s a rare blend of versatility in performance with an arresting face.It’s not the kind of film where you stop to look for logic".[23]
Umesh Punwani of Koimoi rated the film 3 out of 5 stars and wrote "Deep down we all know the OG will remain untouchable, but to dismiss the genuine efforts put in at the storyboard is also unfair".[24] Nandini Ramnath of Scroll.in rated the film 3 out of 5 stars and wrote "Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 moves along on its hero’s insouciance, Tabu’s screen presence, and patches of entertaining comedy".[25] sequel Sukanya Verna of Rediff rated the film 2.5 out of 5 stars and wrote "Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 is a silly scary movie that knows it is a silly scary movie".[26] Swati Chopra of The Quint rated the film 2.5 out of 5 stars and wrote "Bhool Bhulaiyya 2 is an average film. Kiara is a delight to watch, while Rajpal Yadav and Sanjay Mishra make you laugh every time they are on screen.[27] Shalini Langer of The Indian Express rated the film 2 out of 5 stars and wrote "There are repeated jokes at the expense of an overweight child and a hard-of-hearing pandit".[28] Tatsam Mukherjee of Firstpost rated the film 1.5 out of 5 stars and wrote "Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 feels like a step back, especially three years after Stree, a film that used the mould of a Bhool Bhulaiyaa for pointed commentary".[29]

The music of the film is composed by Pritam and Tanishk Bagchi with lyrics written by Amitabh Bhattacharya, Sameer, Yo Yo Honey Singh and Mandy Gill.
The song "Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 - Title Track" was recreated by Tanishk Bagchi from the title track for the 2007 film Bhool Bhulaiyaa which was sung by Neeraj Shridhar and written by Sameer.[30]
