About me

I have been a Wikipedia for six years. My editing efforts focus on agriculture (and all its various aspects), science, STEM, art, writing/expanding information about women/non-binary, BIPOC, and LGBTQ+ individuals. I currently serve as a Wikipedian-in-Residence and Outreach Specialist at the U.S. Department of Agriculture National Agricultural Library (USDA NAL). However, I also work on projects and attend/assist/coordinate events outside of my work at NAL, mostly in relationship with Wikimedia DC and in the Midwest. I am passionate about sharing the various Wikimedia projects with others and teaching/encouraging others to edit. Outside of Wikipedia, I'm interested in information access and librarianship, agriculture/food systems/agricultural law, art/fiber art, and a smattering of other interests.

I'm adept at historical research and finding images. If you need help with either of those, community/event organizing, editing training, or any other questions I may help you with, please feel free to contact me.

About my work

The USDA National Agricultural Library (NAL) facilitates the creation of agricultural knowledge through the acquisition, curation, and dissemination of the information needed to assist not only scientists, but the general public. I support this mission by working to make the holdings of the NAL more accessible to the public by making them available to Wikipedia for use in creating and editing articles. When I edit Wikipedia as part of my duties, I strictly abide by Wikipedia's accepted practices on conflicts of interest, neutrality, and notability.

I will always work in the best interest of Wikipedia, because that aligns with the mission of NAL & USDA and I will modify my editing behavior based on any issues brought to my attention by other editors. If you have any questions about my role, or if there is anyway I or the library may assist you, please email me.

Disclaimer

I work for the National Agricultural Library, and this is the account I use for edits and statements I make in that role. Please note, I use this account for all my editing activities, including supporting and attending editing events/campaigns held by other institutions.

Articles & image requests

I have a list of articles (and image needs) I hope to address one day. Please feel free to add to this list and make image requests.
