Overall, I think you did a great job, but I was just wondering how you would distinguish between community health and public health (because you refer to public health;I have a hard time distinguishing between the two); also I was wondering where you got the primary, secondary, and tertiary info from. Three broad health categories

The section with the primary, secondary and tertiary health categories is a bit confusing to me. Is this just based on a study in Africa or is it broader than that? My idea of these categories is on the health care level.--MrNiceGuy1113 (talk) 16:20, 1 May 2012 (UTC)

It is a useful source as it analyzes and discusses how to integrate preventative health measures into primary care, a level of care mainly given within community health clinics. With community health clinics primarily responsible for maintaining community health, this article could elaborate and discuss possible tactics to integrate such preventative measures into the community.

Associations Between Community Sociodemographics and Performance in HEDIS Quality Measures: A Study of 22 Medical Centers in a Primary Care Network

This article focuses on how provider and health plan payments can affect the quality of healthcare given to their patients, a measure that is most prevalent on a community health level. Many sociological and community factors can attribute to the varied healthcare plans and providers that are present within a certain area. This study evaluates the sociodemographic characteristics, which can be useful to attribute to the new addition to the section within Community Health regarding provider and healthcare plans.

Support and Sabotage: A Qualitative Study of Social Influences on Health Behaviors Among Rural Adults

This source primarily focuses on how social factors can influence health-related issues such as chronic diseases, an issues prevalents mainly in middle adults in rural areas. This article is useful because it focuses on how community health influences health-related outcomes and risks, which is important to note. Such factors are worth mentioning when looking into behavioral and preventative health measures.

Hello All,

I would like to propose the creation of a new section titled "Community Health in the Global South" — this section would discuss the factors that affect access to community health services in developing countries, the status of the epidemiological transition in shifting disease burden from communicable to non-communicable diseases, and the increasing privatization of community health in the Global South. This section would also cover the unique approaches that are taken/can be taken to promote community health in the Global South such as bottom-up community development, health education, slum upgrading measures, and community health workers. Over time, this section could possible develop into its own article. Please feel free to share any and all thoughts on this. I am referring to this: 'environmental, social, and economic resources to sustain emotional and physical well being among people in ways that advance their aspirations and satisfy their needs in their unique environment,' which is attributed to this article on health promotion (which can also be found here).
