Pauline Musters (February 26, 1876 – March 1, 1895) was a Dutch woman. She is recognized by the Guinness World Records as the shortest woman ever recorded, standing at only 24 inches (61 cm) tall.[1]
Life
Born in Ossendrecht, the Netherlands on February 26, 1878, she died in New York City at the age of 19 from a combination of pneumonia and meningitis. At age 9 she was 1 ft 9.5 in and weighed only 4 lb 5 oz. At the time of her death, she measured exactly 61 cm (24 in) tall.[1]
