Tiago Filipe Oliveira Dantas (born 24 December 2000) is a Portuguese professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Super League Greece club PAOK, on loan from Benfica.[1]

Club career

Dantas was born on 24 December 2000 in Lisbon, Portugal. From an early age he had an appeal for football, so he ended up with brief proceedings at the Benfica Academies. Its evolution is rapid. A midfielder who could play with the same comfort in any position in the center, fast, flexible, with excellent transfers in all distances and with characteristic seriousness and maturity for his age. In August 2018 he made his professional debut with the second team of Benfica,[2] while 1.5 years later he reached the first team in a match against Vitória de Setúbal for the Portuguese Cup.[3]

At the same time, he had managed to complete 49 participations with the second team of Benfica, with five goals and six assists. He was, in fact, a protagonist in the course of K19 until the final of the Youth League of the 2018-19 season, counting a total of 16 participations in the event, with six goals and two assists. Performance that brought him to the small national teams of Portugal and have given him the armband of the leader in the National K21. Thiago Dadas had piqued the interest of some of the biggest clubs in Europe.Pep Guardiola's Manchester City took a breather from his acquisition, but eventually the young midfielder found the next stage of his career elsewhere.

In October 2020 he moved to Germany and Bayern Munich. A fiery desire of the then coach Hansi Flick, Dantas played in seven with Bayern Munich II, while he also wore the jersey of the first team twice, with the final of the season finding him the champion of Germany. [4] The people of Bayern, however, decided not to pay the buy out and the player returned to Benfica, where he was then loaned to Tondela.

There he recorded his first full season at professional level, counting four goals and two assists in 34 appearances, being one of the top midfielders in the league. PAOK has been following his case for the last few months and has reached an agreement for his loan. The "black and white" announced on Saturday afternoon (25/6) the acquisition of Tiago Dantas in the form of a loan from Benfica until the summer of 2023.[5]
