Untitled

  • The current text makes it sound like he became an archbishop after a cardinal, and has never been a plain-vanilla bishop; it is hard to avoid that without more dates. --Jerzy (t) 08:15, 2005 Apr 11 (UTC)
    • I stripped the original article, rewrote it into full length and added the correct dates in order to avoid such confusion. --Gerald Farinas 15:02, 11 Apr 2005 (UTC)
  • Added dates and obit links

The following sentence appears to be political and unsubstantiated:

"The said revolution instigated the downward spiral of the Philippine society into poverty and the mediocrity of virtue signalling and hypocrisy. [1]" The reference at the end of the sentence bears no relationship to the statement.

Origin of His Name

Does anyone know how he got this name? I know that the Philippines used to be a Spanish colony and many people have Spanish names, such as Cardinal Sin's first name. Is "Sin" a Spanish name? If so, is it a Spanish word? I assume that doesn't mean the same thing in Spanish as it does in English. Bostoner (talk) 22:30, 17 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

In Spanish it means "without". --86.161.248.3 (talk) 21:24, 27 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
It's more like the "Sin" in his name isn't Spanish at all. He was of Chinese origin. 76.172.94.184 (talk) 09:09, 9 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hello fellow Wikipedians,

I have just added archive links to one external link on Jaime Sin. Please take a moment to review my edit. You may add {{cbignore}} after the link to keep me from modifying it, if I keep adding bad data, but formatting bugs should be reported instead. Alternatively, you can add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}} to keep me off the page altogether, but should be used as a last resort. I made the following changes:

When you have finished reviewing my changes, please set the checked parameter below to true or failed to let others know (documentation at {{Sourcecheck}}).

Hello,

Can we include in the article the Coat of Arms of Cardinal Sin as Archbishop of Jaro?

Move to delete list of Auxillary Bishops of Manila and Vicars General

I don't understand why this list is here on his Wikipedia entry as there are no specific notes on how they assisted him. I suggest we remove this and create a new page or just link to the actual list. I am opening discussions on this subject for the next few days before I move on the section.
