Tori Franklin (born October 7, 1992) is an American triple jumper. Tori Franklin is the first American woman to ever medal in the triple jump at World Athletics Championships.[2][3][4][5] Tori Franklin competed in the women's triple jump at the 2019 and 2017 World Championships in Athletics, jumping a personal best 14.03 m (46 ft 1⁄4 in) in the preliminary round to place 9th & 13th respectively.[6] Franklin competed in the 2018 World Indoor Championships, jumping 8th place 14.03 m (46 ft 1⁄4 in) in the final.
Competition
Tori Franklin has committed her life to connect with nature, universe, God. Since 2020, she has had three coaches through 2022. Tori Franklin wore copper on the final competition of the 2022 World Athletics Championship to help balance the energy within herself. Her old coach quit in 2020, she sought a new coaching situation in 2021 that did not work, so she moved to a coach she knew, trusted and someone who could speak life into her in 2022. This new coach worked in Athens, Greece so Tori Franklin moved to Athens to work with this coach and it lead to a Global medal at the 2022 World Athletics Championships in Eugene, Oregon.[7] Franklin won bronze medal on her fifth jump where she moved from 4th to 3rd with her best jump of the season.[8]
Tori Franklin broke the U.S. Indoor record from Keturah Orji in the triple jump with her 14.57 m (47 ft 9+1⁄2 in) at 2019 Meeting Villa de Madrid in Gallur, Madrid.
Tori Franklin broke the U.S. record in the triple jump with her 14.84 m (48 ft 8+1⁄4 in) performance at the International Meeting Region de Guadeloupe in Baie-Mahault, Guadeloupe, France (overseas region) on May 12, 2018 - surpassing Olympic 4th-place finisher Keturah Orji‘s 14.71 m (48 ft 3 in).[9]
Franklin qualified for the final with her 14.03 m (46 ft 1⁄4 in) first round jump at the World Indoor Championships, to eventually place 8th.
Tori Franklin competed in the women's triple jump at the 2017 World Championships in Athletics, jumping a then personal best 14.03 m (46 ft 1⁄4 in) in the preliminary round to rank #13 as the best non-qualifying athlete.[10]
Tori Franklin delivered another terrific performance on Saturday evening at the 2014 North America Central American and Caribbean Under-23 Championships in Kamloops, British Columbia. Franklin competed for the United States in the triple jump and posted a mark of 13.42 meters to finish first overall in the event.[11]
