Zakhmi Sher (transl. Wounded Lion) is a 1984 Indian Hindi-language action film produced by Pradeep Sharma under the TUTU Films banner and directed by Dasari Narayana Rao. Starring Jeetendra and Dimple Kapadia with the music composed by Laxmikant–Pyarelal, it is a remake of the Telugu language film Bobbili Puli.
Plot
Major Vijay Kumar Singh a lionhearted soldier leads a happy life with his mother Annapurna, sister Varsha, and finance Advocate Anu Gupta. Just before their wedding, the Indian army declares an emergency. So, Vijay pauses and moves to the battlefield. Swami Kashinath Singh is involved in treasonous activities by keeping several officials under his clutch. Once, Annapurna visits his Ashram and recognizes him as her husband who sharp practiced and absconded from the Indian Army. Frightened Kashinath kills her. Being cognizant of the tragedy, Vijay stands strong and triumphs the victory when he is honored with Maha Veera Chakra for his bravery. In his post-return, Vijay learns about Varsha's love affair with Rasik and moves on with the marriage proposal. Then, his father Lala stipulates Vijay marry his insane daughter Anandi and he does so by sacrificing his love.
Consequently, Vijay witnesses treacherous and unjust events in the country. An industrialist, Raghunath Rai arsons an empty warehouse by hiding grains, and a drunkard, Dharam Raj Singh crashed several innocents in an accident. Twice, Vijay files up the case in which Kashinath acquits the criminals by fake alibies. Hence, Vijay revolts for which he is sentenced. Moreover, Varsha is molested and Rasik is killed by Badrinath an acolyte of Kashinath. Now, Vijay explodes by turning into a rebel Zakhmi Sher. He starts his hunt by eliminating anti-social elements which create turbulence in the country. Thus, the government appoints a special officer Vinod Sharma to lay hold of him. Vinod recognizes and requests him to surrender with an assurance to provide justice which he denies. During that diehard, Badrinath slaughters Anandi to unveil Vijay. Thereby, Vijay's outbursts, before dying, he uncovers the real snake as Kashinath who is supposed to be his father, and the homicide of his mother. Therefore, he wipes him too and surrenders to Police. In the court, Vijay uproars the present constitution, judiciary, law & order and pleads to reform them. Finally, the movie ends with the judicial declaring Vijay guilty and destined for the death sentence.
