Parempoolsed (Template:Lang-et, Template:Lang-ru) is a fiscally conservative[2] political party in Estonia. It currently has one party member, Siim Kiisler, in the Riigikogu.

History

The party was formed in August 2018 by mostly former members of Isamaa dissatisfied with the party.[3][4]

Ideology

Parempoolsed, literally translating to "Right-wingers", are a right-of-center party. They support Estonia's membership of the European Union and its common market. They claim to oppose bureaucracy, populism, and a "left turn" in Estonian politics. They intend on increasing privatization and competition in health care. They also call for fiscal responsibility and lowering taxation. They support immigration, stating "conservative policy does not consist in denying immigration" while saying it should be managed "based on the interests of Estonia's economy and security." They also intend on limiting "the state's collection of data concerning people's private lives".[5][6]
