Makayla Malaka was born on 27 June 2012 in Camden, London, United Kingdom. She released her debut album, Eight, on June 27, 2022 on her eighth birthday.[1] She recorded her first single at the age of six which marked the beginning of her music career.

Makayla Malaka was recognized as one of the kid entertainers to watch out for in 2022.[2]

She debuts her first book titled the African Princess on Children's Day coauthored with locally acclaimed child author Sope Martins. The book was released on 27 May, 2022.[3]

Performance

Makayla Malaka performed at the Eko Heritage Awards at the Oriental Hotels on 10 July 2022.[6]

Awards

She was part of the of the honorary awardees at the Eko Heritage Award in 2022 where she won the Eko Celebrity Kid of the Year.[7]
