-The Sword were formed in [[2003]] by lead guitarist/vocalist J.D.Cronise in Austin, Texas. Their debut album, ''[[Age of Winters]]'', was released in 2006 on [[Kemado Records]].  They contributed the song "Under the Boughs" to the ''Invaders'' compilation, also on Kemado Records, and the song "Freya" is featured in the 2006 video game [[Guitar Hero II]]. Their lyrics deal with [[Norse mythology]], a common theme in metal music.
