Fire Country is an upcoming American television drama series produced by Jerry Bruckheimer for CBS, starring Max Thieriot. It is scheduled to premiere on October 7, 2022.
Premise
Bode Donovan is a young convict with a troubled past. Hoping to redeem himself and shorten his prison sentence, he joins a prison release firefighting program in Northern California. He ends up getting assigned to his hometown where he must work alongside former friends, other inmates and elite firefighters putting out the huge fires that plague the region.

Production
Development
In November 2021, CBS announced it was developing a series then known as Cal Fire from Max Thieriot, Tony Phelan & Joan Rater based on Max Thierot's experiences growing up in Northern California fire country.[3] In February 2022, the series was given a pilot green light.[4] In May, 2022 after participating pilot season, Fire Country formerly known as Cal Fire was given a series order by CBS. The pilot was written by Tony Phelan & Joan Rater with Max Thieriot as co-writer and directed by James Strong.[5] Tia Napolitano will server as the series showrunner.[6]
Filming
Filming on the series began in July 2022, in Vancouver and is scheduled to continue until December 2022. The town of Fort Langley is used as the fictional Northern California town of Edgewater.[7]
Casting
In February 2022, it was announced that Max Thieriot would star in the series.[8] In March 2022, Billy Burke and Kevin Alejandro were given lead roles in the pilot.[9] A few days later it was announced that Diane Farr, Jordan Calloway, Stephanie Arcila, and Jules Latimer would be appearing as series regulars.[10] In September 2022, it was announced that Michael Trucco would be joining the show in a recurring role.[11]
Broadcast
Fire Country is scheduled to premiere on October 7, 2022 on CBS.[12]
