I'm new at wikipedia and my article was recently deleted with the comments nn-org. After some further reading, I believe that this means the organization is not notable? Please confirm this. |

I am not trying to create an argument, I want to understand what is not notable about the organization if its parent organization has not been deleted from Wikipedia? I realize that the parent organization is a national organization, but without provincial organizations the national organization would really not exist as an organization. Thank-you for your help. |

Thanks for blocking the latest Lucille Ball sock-vandal
Should I have reported that to WP:SSP#Reporting_suspected_sock_puppets? I thought that WP:AIV would be ok for such an obvious sock-vandal, but apparently not. -- Jim Douglas (talk) (contribs) 21:55, 2 January 2007 (UTC)
This is how I spent part of New Year's Day: User talk:Bennbread... so my patience is at the same level (i.e. I'm fresh out). User:Antandrus shut down that sock...but I'm sure there will be more. I'm taking the same whack-a-mole approach as you are; I just have to hope for an available admin whenever a new sock pops up. -- Jim Douglas (talk) (contribs) 22:18, 2 January 2007 (UTC)
Protection Error
I would like to point out that your protection for Image:Flag of England (bordered).svg was not done correctly. I'm unsure if it was a mistake or if you just didn't know how, but when you protect an image from Commons, you need to make sure you get a Commons admin to protect the page there. Alternatively, you can download the image and upload it locally, and then apply protection as you did in this case. Thanks in advance, and I apologize if you knew about those processes already and this sounded condescending. -- tariqabjotu 23:59, 5 January 2007 (UTC)
- Oh, and by the way, you can add a parameter to the {{mprotected2}} template that says what article is associated with the protected page. For example, for templates transcluded into Ahmose I, you could put {{mprotected|Ahmose I}}. That might make things a little easier for admins looking to unprotect templates in pages no longer on the Main Page, as it gives them an idea of when the associated article was or will be on the Main Page. -- tariqabjotu 00:07, 6 January 2007 (UTC)
{{warning}}
I would like to replace the current image with Image:Fairytale waring.png so as to make the warning more friendly. I think warnings are often pointless and I would like to bring about more understanding of vandal culture. I am even thinking of creating wikipedia:penance program. frummer 21:01, 6 January 2007 (UTC)
Short pages
Per your recent edit to The Llama Song, I'm wondering if it might be better in the long run to add some extra stuff to the {{deletedpage}} template so that it will automatically avoid being listed on Special:Shortpages. What do you think? ···日本穣? · Talk to Nihonjoe 16:28, 15 January 2007 (UTC)
contested prod of 3760 B.C.
I have removed the {{prod}} tag from 3760 B.C., which you proposed for deletion, because I feel that this article should not be deleted from Wikipedia. I'm leaving this message here to notify you about it. If you still feel the article should be deleted, please don't add the {{prod}} template back to the article. Instead, feel free to list it at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion. Thanks! -- Chrislk02 (Chris Kreider) 18:08, 18 January 2007 (UTC)
- It was orphaned because the year was wrong. Article has now been moved to 3761 B.C. --Selket 21:41, 23 January 2007 (UTC)
Hi TexasAndroid, I was wondering how long a template like this one usually stays protected after an article in which it's used is featured on the main page. I'd like to add something to the template. You can see the discussion of that here. Thanks in advance. Robotman1974 14:39, 19 January 2007 (UTC)
- Hey, thanks! That was quick. I've read about that particular vandal... it's a real shame that templates have to be locked like that but I guess it's one of the only solutions for now. Happy editing. Robotman1974 15:19, 19 January 2007 (UTC)
Long comments for Shortpages
Keep in mind for non-maintenance pages like disambiguation pages that can and will warrant textual changes it may be best not to add a long comments to push them off Shortpages. Many of these pages instead need to be expanded with additional items linked or need explanatory descriptions added or birthdate information for persons, or general disambig formatting, etc. —Centrx→talk • 04:13, 23 January 2007 (UTC)
- I am using Shortpages to flesh out these disambiguation pages and other pages. Though, for many of them there is not much that can be done to flesh them out. I am just asking that you consider when you go through them whether there is more you can do to make it a better disambiguation page that facilitates navigation for the reader, rather than just pushing them off. Hopefully we will get to higher and higher bytecounts—it hasn't been up to 91 at least since I've used it in the last seven months—but once you get up to the level of the disambiguation page there is not much vandalism going to be there anyway. So, to some extent it pushes the pages off only to get more of the same kind of page, until eventually we get to those commented-out pages again that could still use improvement. Just something to consider. —Centrx→talk • 16:04, 23 January 2007 (UTC)
- To some extent, there is nothing that can be done to flesh out some of these. There are good and bad parts to adding the long comments, so I myself am divided on the issue. —Centrx→talk • 16:18, 23 January 2007 (UTC)
Refectory?
Hi TexasAndroid--I am working on Blackfriars Theatre, and I noticed that Refectory has been deleted; I am sorry if I am addressing the wrong person, but the log appears that you deleted it as the result of a PROD. Do you know if there is a way to check the reason for the PROD? I would like to recreate the page, which has more than 50 links to it. I am a novice in this, so I apologize if I am doing something out of process. Jlittlet 01:24, 6 February 2007 (UTC)
Artistic Perspective Entertainment
I object to your deletion of "Artistic Perspective Entertainment" as result of a Prod. This companies works are receiving world release and press for the artists involved. A.P.E. Films and its two directors C.S. Vernon & Jimmy Lee are certainately more notable than many of the other music video & film directors/companies currently listed in Wikipedia.
Please excuse if I did not post this objection correctly in accordance with Wikipedia policy. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.89.115.92 (talk • contribs)
Could you explain to me what was exactly wrong with Philip Beckley and why it was deleted? What does it mean "Blanked by creator". If you dont like it in the proposed form we can work on it. I would appreciate if next time you send me a comment at least letting me know that the article was deleted (not to mention that you could just simply talk to me BEFORE it was deleted). --Zureks 10:59, 9 February 2007 (UTC)
- Hi. Thanks for your speedy reply and explanation. First of all I would like to apologize, because it was all my fault. I was working on the page in my Sandbox. When I was ready I copied to content to the actual page. A then I wanted to remove the stuff from my sandbox (by as you say blanking it) - as you can see somewhere I got so confused that I also blanked the text from the actual article (see the Edit summary of that edition). Thanks a lot for your help and for undeleting that article. Have a nice day. --Zureks 16:01, 9 February 2007 (UTC)

Regarding a category
Regarding Category:Russian-language films, since all other "X-language films" categories don't have the requirement that the films not be from the largest country with that language, perhaps it would be a good idea to rename it to something like "Russian-language films not made in Russia"? I also wonder if you could weigh in on the deletion discussions here and here. Esn 23:10, 14 February 2007 (UTC)
question about u2charist deletion
'ello. just wondering why you deleted the article with the aforementioned name that i'm really embarrassed to repeat because it's the silliest most absurd thing i've ever heard of? despite my urge to vomit when even thinking about it, i'm still curious, seeing as i've read lots and it gets "about 35000" hits on google. was the old article really bad, or did you share my nausea and just put any who, despite their best interests and self-preservation, wanted to find a wikipedia article that might help ease the stomach a bit, our of their miseries? --Chalyres 13:43, 15 February 2007 (UTC)
i guess that's probably a protest, then. --Chalyres 20:36, 15 February 2007 (UTC)
power sum
Your edit to the power sum disambiguation page seems inappropriate and I have reverted. The term "power sum" does not refer to those things. Rather, power sums are written about in those two articles. Michael Hardy 22:12, 16 February 2007 (UTC)
Short disambiguation pages
Please at least check that these pages are formatted properly and link to the articles of the same name on Wikipedia before pushing them off the list. There is a similar situation for other pages; don't put a stub tag on a completely unsourced, unwikified article. The article should be wikified and the it should be verified that the topic at least exists. —Centrx→talk • 16:45, 18 February 2007 (UTC)

one quick question. i found wikipe tan in a more older version ( which is displayed on my userpage now) however its accompanyed by her youger versions too how can i go and request for a image of the older version only? it looks weird saying that the girls are umm hot and then having a pic of a young anime girl. gives me a odd wierd and unliked feeling. Maverick423 16:05, 20 February 2007 (UTC)
Yes, the copyrighted material obviously needed to be removed. But that doesn't seem like the best way to go about doing it; the fact that you didn't bother to replace the material unrelated to the Texan article seems rather careless. I'll replace my own contribution, but keep in mind that a lot of people (e.g., the anonymous ones) don't track the pages they edit. Miss Dark 01:23, 21 February 2007 (UTC)

Improper use of user page
Hi, picking an admin at random. There's a issue with a user page, specifically BassxForte. I removed portions that I believe violate WP:NPA and WP:AGF, but the user reverted it and asserted ownership of his user page, which isn't in accordance with basic policies. I don't want to get involved in an argument that will only go in cycles, so I respectfully ask for your assistance in the matter. ' 07:04, 21 February 2007 (UTC)

On Quizap and stuff
Per the AfD on Quizap (refer to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Quizap), the content was transplanted to a different page without a redirect. The explanation given, if memory serves, was that the new location - Quizap! - was the correct name. Does this mean that the article should be deleted, or that it should start anew in the AfD process? --Dennisthe2 17:20, 26 February 2007 (UTC)
