:::: I do not believe the association between Truss or Blair and the songs is sufficiently strong to warrant addition of their name categories to the respective song articles. Neither of them have any real connection with these songs, other than the fact that the songs were chosen, by some anonymous party organiser, for use at their respective conferences. Do you think all the songs mentioned at [[Musicians who oppose Donald Trump's use of their music]] should have the [[:Category:Donald Trump]] added? I see addition of these categories as quite misleading. [[Special:Contributions/205.239.40.3|205.239.40.3]] ([[User talk:205.239.40.3|talk]]) 15:17, 17 October 2022 (UTC)

Egghead06: Yes ok, the song was played for 30 seconds as Truss walked across the stage to her lectern at the 2022 Tory Party Conference, and it made the media headlines, largely because of the outrage of the band. But, really, adding Category:Liz Truss?? I mean, this trivia is not even mentioned anywhere in her article. And why should it be. 205.239.40.3 (talk) 09:39, 17 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

But not without precedent as Things Can Only Get Better (D:Ream song) has the category Tony Blair.--Egghead06 (talk) 11:07, 17 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
And that's not mentioned once in his article either. We're not really talking WWE entrance themes here, are we? 205.239.40.3 (talk) 11:46, 17 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
No, but conversely, both Blair and Truss are mentioned in the articles on the individual songs.--Egghead06 (talk) 13:31, 17 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I do not believe the association between Truss or Blair and the songs is sufficiently strong to warrant addition of their name categories to the respective song articles. Neither of them have any real connection with these songs, other than the fact that the songs were chosen, by some anonymous party organiser, for use at their respective conferences. Do you think all the songs mentioned at Musicians who oppose Donald Trump's use of their music should have the Category:Donald Trump added? I see addition of these categories as quite misleading. 205.239.40.3 (talk) 15:17, 17 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Have these all been discussed on the respective Talk pages? Is there a guideline that allows for such uses?
