Sandra Collins (born 16th July 1970) is the Chair of the Consortium of National and University Libraries (CONUL), a member of the Irish Government’s Expert Advisory Group for Commemorations and the Advisory Forum to the Irish Government’s National Conversation on Research, the Board of the Digital Repository of Ireland (DRI), and the Council of the Research Data Alliance (RDA).

She received the UCD Alumni Award in Research, Innovation and Impact in 2020.[1]


Education

Dr Sandra Collins attended University College Dublin graduating with BSc in Mathematics and Mathematical Physics in 1991 and PhD (Nonlinear Fluid Dynamics) in 1996.


Career

She is a University Librarian at University College Dublin since 2022.[2]

Dr Sandra Collins was appointed as the Director of the National Library of Ireland in 2015.[3]

She was a Director of the Digital Repository of Ireland (2011-2015) and received three Ireland eGovernment awards for a collaborative digital cultural projects: ‘Promoting Ireland Overseas’, ‘Open Source’, and ‘Overall Winner’.[4]
